A cry came from upstairs, drawing Dan and Evanna out of peaceful quiet. Dan was scrolling through his Tumblr tag and Evanna was reading the new Harry Potter book. Evanna glanced Dan's way before moving to go upstairs. Dan watched her go, setting his laptop down in case she called for his help. Evanna made her way up the stairs, wondering if she should have sent Dan instead. Maddie loves her mother, don't get me wrong but she was just born a Daddy's girl. When Maddie is upset sometimes nobody but Dan can calm her down. That's the way Maddie has always been. Evanna doesn't take it personally, Dan is a great father, and Madison loves him so much. Evanna opened the door of Maddie's bedroom her eyes widening when she saw her sitting upright, sobbing. She doesn't just cry anymore, she's grown out of that faze, so Evanna rushes forward to cradle Maddie in her arms. 

"What's wrong baby girl?" She asks gently as Maddie clings to her. 

"Bad d-dream." She hiccups, looking around. 

"W-where's Daddy?" Maddie asks, looking over Evanna's shoulder for him. 

"Daddy's downstairs baby." Evanna says, lifting her into her arms. 

"I want Daddy." She whimpers, tears building again. 

"Okay how about we go and see Daddy then okay?" Evanna says with a smile as Maddie's eyes light up. 

"C-can Daddy play the piano?" She asks softly as they reach the bottom of the stairs. 

"I'm sure he could." Evanna says turning into their bedroom, setting Maddie down as she squirmed in her grip. As soon as her little bare feet hit the ground she took off running, in the direction of Dan. Dan opened his arms as she reached him, her arms wrapping around his neck as Dan lifted her into his arms. Concern etches it's way onto his face as he notices her red puffy eyes. 

"What's the matter Maddie Girl?" He asks her with a soft voice. 

"B-bad dream..." She says, resting her head on his shoulder. He hugs her tighter to him, wanting to take all her bad dreams away. 

"Daddy will fight those bad dreams away okay?" He says and she nods, looking up at Evanna. 

"You ask him." Evanna tells Maddie, who looks over to Dan. 

"Daddy can you play the piano?" She asks and Dan smiles, standing the two of them up and sitting down at the piano. He places Maddie in his lap as he places his hands on the keys. 

"What do you want me to play?" He asks her, kissing the top of her head. Evanna leans against the door frame, trying to memorize every detail of this moment. Trying to capture how precious and pure it is, and it's moments like this that Evanna falls deeper and deeper in love with Dan. 

"The river song!" She exclaims, resting her head against his arms as he begins to play the song. (River Flows In You by Yiruma) His fingers dance over the ivory's, creating the most beautiful melody. Phil eventually joins Evanna in the doorway, being drawn by the sound of Dan's playing. He smiles to himself, not being able to deny how adorable this moment is. Maddie rests her head against Dan's torso as her eyes begin to droop shut. Hearing Dan play the piano is how we used to put her to sleep when she was a baby, and it must have just stuck. Now when she doesn't feel good or has a nightmare, she can't sleep unless Dan lulls her to sleep with the piano. She snuggles her head into him as she begins to fall asleep. Dan keeps playing until she is in a deep sleep. He lifts her into his arms, taking another one of his T-Shirts he pulls it over her head and pulls  her little arms through the sleeves. Just like we used to do when she was a baby. She drowns in his T-Shirt, but she loves to wear his clothes. She'll go around the house in them saying "look I'm just like Daddy!" It's really the cutest thing. He carries her up to her bed, after he stops and presses a kiss to my lips. He disappears into her room, and I imagine he's tucking her in as he reappears moments later. He shuts the door softly before he makes his way back down to me and Phil. Dan brings me into his arms as Phil moves back into his room. 

"Thank you." He murmurers in my ear. 

"For what?" I ask him. 

"Blessing me with a beautiful little girl." He says and I feel myself melting for him a little bit more (when am I not?) as I snuggle further into his chest.
