"Mom, I think it might have been an accident!" I said knowing that the only person really at fault was me.
"I'm tired of this. All I can do now is talk to your father about this and his decision stands." I knew what was going to happen anyways my mom will talk him into taking my phone, or cutting my night outs, and actually I don't care too much for my phone. My mom doesn't know how hard I try to make her happy, but not just that. Just to make her proud. It's not like she's here majority of the time like my dad. Now all that matters to me is my music.
I went back to my room and I felt a tear roll down my cheek. Slowly. My throat closed up and was dry. I hated when I had gotten this feeling, it was when I hold my tears back and the feeling is the worst. I don't care about my grades I just want to make a use of my life. How am I going to do that. I want to have determination but for that I'm going to need inspiration.
So lets fill in these cracks, one crack at a time.
* * *
I don't know when I slept or how but that morning I woke up to my alarm clock and the pitter patter on my window from thunder clouds rolling and a note on my mirror from mom.
I had an emergency meeting to go to this morning. Breakfast is downstairs and your coat is in the laundry room. Don't worry about Sierrah she's going carpool with Riley, but you'll have to get her after dance at 5:30 sharp. Don't forget. -Mom
I started to get ready. I went to my moms room and got her ruffled shirt and my trench coat. I grabbed a biscuit and left for school after grabbing the necessities.
Ever since I got my license I never took a second look at that ugly yellow vehicle called a "school bus".
"Hurry up Mac!" I yelled out of the car window to one of my best friends Adelaide Moss. But everyone calls her Mac since in the second grade she tried to steal my mac and cheese.
So I guess it kind of stuck.
"Sorry sorry! I had to feed Binx! He wouldn't shut up!" She apologized as she entered the car.
"That new chihuahua you got?" I asked.
"Yeah he's a pain!" She let out a frustrated sigh.
"Well I warned you now let's go. We have to pick up Nalani too!"
Nalani moved here a couple years ago from Hawaii and we met at the coffee shop around the corner.
Mac and I always went to go get the usual and we found Nalani ordering the same mocha. Then I guess we kind of clicked.
Not kind of, a lot.
I feel I have amazing friends, but I still am missing something and I just don't know what. Not quite yet. Nalani rushed into the car and I went as fast as I could. Sure I skipped a red light but with the new strict teachers we've heard of, well let's say it was all worth the risk.
We got our bags and ran in, I left my mocha in the car but hopefully the car had that bittersweet mocha aroma at the end of the day.
Nalani and I had first period World History while Mac had Health Science. "Bye Mac." We whispered. She waved at us and crept into class on her tiptoes. Nalani and I make an attempt to tiptoe into class but it doesn't go too well.
"It's the same teacher from last year!" I whisper to Nalani. "Aw man." Nalani drawls sadly. "I hated her!" Nalani replied.
By the time we took our third step she had turned around, glared down at us, slowly slid her glasses down her nose and had said "Well well well, what do we have here?" With an devilish smirk on her face.
"Hi Ms. Montez.." Nalani and I both said scared.
"Great detention on the first day." I mumbled to myself.
"And your excuses now?" She asked annoyed.
"That's the thing, we don't have any." I said.
"Oh I know you don't. I'm talking about the ones you're about to make." She said with that same creepy smirk.
Nalani usually didn't speak much, but today was a little different.
