Chapter 30: This Means War

Feeling lost? Well when I say I totally understand you, believe me I do.

I kissed my ex while my bestfriend walked into the middle of it with a blank face as usual as he disappeared back into the messy classroom. Now I was sitting in a gray walled, cinnamon smelling room, with stacks of paper in every corner.

That's right. I, Dawn Andrews am in the principals office. Once again.

The door opened to reveal a very stressed out lady in a pencil skirt and blazer. She looked as if she were in her mid 20s so too young to be assistant principal or headmistress. Maybe an intern.

"Hello girls. Dr. Turner has a meeting to attend to." The girl said sounding as if she ran a marathon. New bee probably.

"You guys are off with a warning, but during lunch your whole class must clean the room." She dismissed us with a wave.

"Thank you." I muttered, even though she probably didn't hear me.

Great, now I have to waste my lunch not eating food, yet cleaning it.

**

It had been three whole days since the 'food fight' incident and no sign of Chelsea. Rumors were quickly spreading like 'She had an STD' or 'She had to take care of her baby.' Some people will never learn the meaning of personal space.

"Hi Dawn?" I was greeted by a familiar voice and warm smile.

"Opal." I greeted with a closed-mouth smile.

"Can I talk to you for a moment?" She asked jotting her heads away from the cafeteria.

"B-but my food." I said picking up a french fry and pouting with my face behind it while Opal yanked me and playfully rolled her eyes.

"Bye bye my loves." I flew a kiss towards the french fries and to my dismay my friends caught it.

"Love you too Dawn!" Mac, Nalani, James, Kayden, and Lucas said in unison.

Wow.

"Not you!" I hollered back rolling my eyes.

I tried to keep up with Opal's fast pace. Let's just say compared to her I was a slug.

"So what exactly could be more important than my french fries. You do know it's the one food I like besides macaroni oh and-"

"IlikeKayden." She quickly mumbled.

"Excusez-moi?" I asked. Surely my ears were playing tricks with me.

Opal was fidgeting with her fingers avoiding eye contact with me. Clearly she was staring at the bridge of my nose.

"I like." She inhaled sharply.

"Fries. Yep." Her eyes lit up and a sigh of relief came out.

"Fries that's it!" Opal fake smiled.

"I love fries as much as the next guys but I know a fake smile when I see one." I gave her a stern look.

Me intimidating Opal?

Well this is definitely a first.

"I'm sorry I shouldn't hav-" She started to ramble again.

"Opal. Breathe in."
