It had been a month. A month since the carnival. I've been spending every moment possible with him.

Yes, Kayden.

I had been blowing off Lucas for the past month too, I explained to him how I only thought of him as a friend. His face was readable unlike Kayden's. Hurt, sorrow, and maybe a pinch of regret. I felt so bad, but you know what they say. Keep the past in the past.

As for Mac, Nalani, and James. They've been the same teasers since day one. They won't let me and Kayden at rest. We're just friends! If not that, then a bestfriend!

As for his playboy ways..I haven't even seen him talk to any girl in a 'flirtatious' way. They usually come up to him and try but he's avoiding them. Definitely not the Kayden I know.

"DAWN!" I woke up to a loud high pitched scream.

I rubbed my eyes lazily and yawned sitting up straight on my backboard.

"What is it Nalani?" I asked knowing the only person capable of a scream like that was my dear Nalani.

"What the-" I subconsciously pulled the covers over my chest in shock of who it was.

"I knew you could be a girl at times but this Kayden, really?" I asked my idiot friend looking horrified and came by me on my bed and gripped onto me shaking me.

"Get off you twerp!" I yelled pushing him off with a loud 'thud' that followed.

"Yes?" Sierrah asked poking her head through the door.

"Woah" She held up her hands in surrender. "Didn't mean to disturb anything." She sang leaving before I could explain that nothing was happening. I mean Kayden in nothing but beach shorts and me in nothing but a tank and short shorts. I mean nothing, it means nothing. Wait..

"Kayden Flynn Rivers what the heck are you doing in my room at-" I stopped and checked my clock. "7:50?! in the morning!" Semester exams had just finished and we were on a two week break. Which of course the one and only Kayden could ruin.

"Rise and shine princess." He said opening my curtains letting the blinding sun seep through out my room.

"How the heck did you get in anyways?" I said putting toothpaste on my toothbrush.

"Spare key, duh." He answered back casually swinging the spare key in my face.

I spit out the paste and washed my face. "How do you manage to always get my spare keys?" I asked.

"You aren't very too bright my Dawnie" He said ruffling my hair.

"What was that scream about?" I decided to tease him a smirk forming on my face.

"I wanted to wake you up?" He answered more like in a question form.

"Okay okay, I saw a mouse." He answered cocking his head to the side and giving a closed-mouth smile.

"This house doesn't have mice in it." I remarked smoothly.

"A cat?"

"Not an animal person."

"A burglar?"

"Give up Rivers."

He let out a defeated sigh.
