It had been a whole week that my mom had stayed in the hospital. My mom would be resting at home until graduation was over. (Doctors orders.)
Everything's going fast. Too fast actually. Graduation is in a week and I haven't prepared for it all. Nalani is valedictorian and I couldn't be any happier for her! She deserves it so much.
As for me, two of the three college applications I sent out had come back. I decided that I would open it with the girls but then I realized the pros and cons. Pro: We would all jump and scream. (Happily of course.) Con: If I got rejected I wouldn't want anyone feeling sympathetic for me.
It's so weird to think I'd be graduating in less than a week. It feels as if just yesterday I was feeding the ducks some bread with Gramps. Or one of the last times Kayden and I hung out before I realized it was one of the last.
*Flashback*
I watched as Kayden scarfed down his chicken noodle soup. Boys will be boys.
"What are you gonna do when I'm not here to take care of you and you'll have your own little munchkin to take care of?" I asked slightly chuckling at his pale face and nose red like Rudolph's. Ah, now that'll be something else I can add to the list of my teasers.
"I'll have you come over and take care of them, of course." He said trying to smile smugly which just ended up with Kayden coughing around his germs everywhere.
"Them?" I asked cocking a brow.
"Well, duh. I'm going to have two children. Kailee and Ryder."
"Kayden," I drawled. "Please for the sake of us all stop reading JustMommies magazine." I joked earning just a tint a pink on Kayden's cheeks.
"I don't read that! I just happen to like those names very much." Kayden pouted. His voice sounded so adorable when it was stuffy, almost like a mouse, but not the annoying types!
That's more like Chelsea.
"What about you?" Kayden asked taking another hot bowl of soup.
"Naomi and Axel."
"Any particular reason?" Kayden asked slurring his soup.
"I just like the names, they aren't too stereotypical." I shrugged.
"Not that."
"Then?"
"Why you want only two kids?" He asked with a full on smirk.
I was now positive my cheeks were redder than tomatoes. I threw a pillow at him pouting like a little kid and crossing my arms.
Lord, this boy will never grow up.
*End of flashback*
"Hey slowpoke," Mac grabbed my arm and shoved me into about the tenth store. "We have to find a dress today."
"How about this one." Nalani held up a purple sequined dress that looked like a hooker dress. Something Chelsea would probably wear.
"How about no." I remarked.
"I just love getting a reaction out of you. It's still the feisty Dawn in there." Nalani said chuckling with Mac.
"Let me see your dresses for inspiration." I asked them both and instantly they took out their phones and started to swipe their screens and showing me pictures of their dresses.
I stared at Nalani's phone revealing her halter red dress coming right above the knee with lace embellishment on the bottom.
I looked at Mac's dress revealing the pretty blue almost aqua shade of maxi dress she had. I stared at the lace following the soft silk material.
