I rubbed my eyes and it looked as if I were looking into the galaxy. I saw three familiar male figures hazily.
I rubbed my eyes once again to focus my vision and there he was.
"Daddy!" I yelled quickly sitting up and opening my arms.
He came to the hospital bed and squeezed me till I couldn't breathe.
My dad was a tall, brown haired, overworking, and loving man.
I appreciated my dad so much that I really didn't know how to show it. Even though he isn't always around like Mom I know they care.
I'm pretty sure he thinks that couldn't care less about him or his job, but I do, I really do. s
"Sweetheart I'm so sorry I couldn't come the second I heard about the accident I took the first flight back from grandmas and here I am now," He apologized after kissing my forehead.
"So when are we planning to get out of here?" Dad asked before he got interrupted.
"Morning everyone." My mom said sounding like she had the worst sleep ever, I mean I would be too if I struggled to sleep on cushioned chair all night.
The nurse came in saying that I would be ready to leave in a couple of hours so while my parents packed I decided to visit Nalani next door.
"Knock knock" I said as I entered Nalanis room.
She sure did look weary..
"Hey Andrews" she said softly. Have you realized we all have that one friend who calls us by our last name? That's Nalani for me.
"Hey did doc tell ya when you could leave?" I asked hoping she'd say soon.
"Yeah, out by Wednesday, and crutches for two weeks, then a brace for who knows how long." she said with her weak smile.
"That's perfect! We can have the annual 'Survived the First Week of School' sleepover, even though we weren't at school for half of it." I chuckled as Nalani joined me.
"About that Dawn, I don't know if I should.." Nalani trailed off. Heck no, she was coming.
"Nalani you're coming and that;s final. where's Mrs. Roy?" I asked.
"She went to get me some O.J. and to get her daily green tea." She explained.
"Tired?" I asked trying to break the tension in the air.
"Kinda, I've been restless, and scared." She replied mumbling 'scared'.
Well breaking the tension didn't exactly work.
"Scared?" Nalani's told me a lot of stuff but never once that she was 'scared'.
"Yeah, but I know I have you and Mac and that'll get me through these couple days." She answered.
I gently swiped the loose strands of hair up to her forehead and bid her goodbye with a warm smile, I am glad my bestfriend is healing fast but why 'scared' I decided not to pile her with questions.
I tend to do that often..
I called Mac to tell her when Nalani and I'd be getting out and not to my she'd already been planning sleepover, she rented us all room at the Highlands Plaza. I love hotels, I don't really know why but they just, I don't know. Maybe it's that I grew up in them since my parents owned many.
I told my parents and just gave me a slight nod. I was left confused.
The question still in mind. Can you leave!
'Scared..'
Why?
"Dawn not gonna spend time with your old man first?" My dad questioned said with a smile.
"Dad lets pack first then we can go to lunch." I said returning the smile.
We continued to pack until we were all done and then headed out the hospital.
I was ready to catch up on all the stories and quality time with both of my parents. After all, it had been 6 months since I last saw them together, with work and all.
Italian food here we come.
A/N: Hey guys! The book will get more interesting, I pinky promise!
