Chapter 29: Bon Appetit

"Listen up class! Ecouter! We will be having a project instead of a test, since je serai attendais bébé." Madam Sylvia finished patting her 8 and a half months pregnant stomach.

Is it just me or are babies the most precious things on planet earth? From the small toes to the cute yawns and sneezes. Babies. Probably my number two weakness.

My number one you ask? Rollercoasters. I'm scared of them, yes. But something about it, the thrill, the wind in my hair, the excitement. So it's basically a love-hate relationship.

"Mademoiselle?" Madam Sylvia asked breaking me out of the thought of cute babies, with their little toes, and yawns. Oh and you can't forget out those adorable noses! And-

"Mademoiselle?" Madam Sylvia asked once again, this time her voice was less patient.

"Yes Madam?" I sheepishly looked down.

"C'est à votre tour." She said pointing her index finger to the fedora hat she had on her on her desk.

"I'm just guessing here but I think that means it's your turn." James nudged me to get up.

Whoops.

I walked over and picked up the only one left.

"Madam?" I opened the blank note and showed it to her.

"Oui?" She looked over at the blank note and smiled sheepishly with her ice blue eyes looking at the note and then threw it away.

"Votre choix." She said waving her arm towards the class while I stood there dumbfoundedly.

Yes I take French and it's my fifth year, but I never said I was good. I managed to keep a B and I'm proud of that. I'm proud of you B.

"You choice." Madam Sylvia explained realizing I had no idea what she had said. I made an 'O' shape with my mouth while I saw the groups that I could choose from.

Person I don't know.

People I don't know.

Girl I don't know.

Chelsea.

Who I unfortunately know.

Nalani, but she's with Kayden.

Nope, I worked hard for that B, and I'm planning on keeping it.

The last group was two girls who I hadn't seen before jotting down notes. One tall with chocolate brown hair and olive skin, no doubt she was pretty. The other one was petite and had strawberry-red hair curls swept to one side of her shoulder and flawless skin.

"Dépêchez-vous." Madam said pointing to her watch on her wrist. Pregnant women.

Don't get me wrong, Madam Sylvia was the sweetest teacher I had all year. But let me tell you, don't mess with pregnant women.

Or just women in general.

I sat in the free seat next to the two girls after shooting Nalani an apologetic smile was she was stuck with Kayden.

Haha, Karma.

"Mind if I join you two?" I said in my most polite voice and smile.

"Nope." They both said in unison returning the smile.

"I'm Dawn." I said before sitting down.

"Opal." The tall, chocolate brown, and olive skin girl said with a smile and short wave. Hmm, Opal. I like that.
