A night call

Arizona's POV
It's the middle of the night. I woke up and was playing with Callie's arm, designing random patterns with my fingers in her soft skin when I felt Callie's other arm tighten around my waist.
"Go back to sleep.." Callie whispers against my ear.
"You go back to sleep.." I say.
Callie kisses my cheek and I rest my hand in her cheek to maintain the contact.
"Fine" Callie says and we drift of to sleep again.
I'm woken up again. This time by Callie's arms tighter around me. Only after I feel the shake in her body I notice the phone ringing.
I get up and pick up the phone.
"Dr. Robbins" I say trying to open my eyes.
"Robbins it's coming! The baby is coming!" I scared Mark says on the other side of the phone. "Ahhhhhh...." A loud Lexie screams.
"Hang on Mark! We're on our way!" I say before I hang up.
"Callie get up, Lexie is in labor!" I say getting dressed. Callie follows my moves and we make the bed before leaving April and Jackson's house.
Only when we get to the car we realize.
"It's four am and Mark lives in Tacoma.." Callie says looking from the wheel to me.
"Oh.." I say. "Maybe we should drive there? I don't think there's any flights at this hour.." I say.
"Ok. We're driving to Tacoma!" Callie says.
I give her a kiss on the cheeks as Callie starts the car and then I lean back.
Trying not to fall asleep and to keep Callie company I start playing with my thumbs.
"What are you thinking over there love?" She asks.
"Just.. How we are.. We've been thro so much and still we are the couple everyone looks up to.." I say.
"Is that a bad thing?" Callie asks.
"I don't know.. I want it just to be us you know? Not have everyone watching us like we are perfect or something.." I say looking at the road.
"They just watch us because we can't help looking in love. They watch us because they see the love we have for each other and they dream of one day having that same love with someone. It's not a bad thing. It means we are good!" Callie says smiling.
I can't help but smile as well.
"We are the healthy ones?" I ask her.
"Hell yeah!" Callie says.
I lean in and rest my head in her shoulder. Although it's not the most comfortable position, it's the one we both need right now.
I grab Callie's hand and turn the music on. As the musics play we take turns singing along, sometimes making a duet, while we drove to see Sofia. To see Mark and Lexie and to see the little baby.

Callie's POV
We make it to Tacoma's hospital an run inside.
"Alexandra Grey!" Arizona says breathless to a nurse standing behind the counter. She gives her a confused look.
"Where is the patient AlexandraGrey?" She asks. The nurse starts tipping in the computer and then looks up.
"Are you.." She says.
"Family, we're family!" I interrupt her.
She looks between us.
"Yes, both of us now please can you direct us to Lexie?"
"She's in the infirmary, take the elevator to the third floor, third corridor to your right, second door!" She says.
I grab Arizona's hand and run to the elevator.
When we get to our floor we run down the halls and find Mark entering the room.
"Mark!" I scream!
Mark looks back and sees us.
"Oh thank God!" He says.
He gives each of us a hug.
"She's been in labor for hours now.. Come, Sofia is in there!" He opens the door for us.
There are ten other woman in this room, separated by curtains.
He opens Lexie's and we step in.
"Mommy!" Sofia says running to Arizona. Arizona picks her up and hugs her tight. When Sofia sees me she reaches for me and I hug her in Arizona's lap.
"How's the momma?" Arizona asks looking at Lexie.
"Ok I guess..." Lexie says.
When I look at Arizona I notice something isn't right. She's got her "focus" look on.
Handing me Sofia which I gladly take she says.
"Do you mind if I take a look?" Grabbing Lexie's chart.
"No! Not at all!" Lexie says. Another contraction hits her and she holds on to Marks hand for dear life.
"Oah.. That's a big one!" I see noticing the pick of the line in the screen.
"How manny have you had like that?" I ask her.
"I don't know a few.."
I look at Arizona and Arizona nods to me.
"Is that not normal?" Lexie asks noticing our "eye talk".
"Why don't I take a look?" Arizona says taking her rings and bracelets of and pushing her sleeves up.
"Pleas, if someone is going to take a look I want it to be you.." Lexie says.
Arizona sits up in front of Lexie and smiles to her as she puts her gloves on.
I can't help but think how sexy she looks while she's working.
Arizona lifts Lexie's sheet and takes a look inside. Looking from Lexie to the monitor to her right she takes a couple of seconds before she says.
"Ok, no panicking but the baby has to come out now!" She says getting up from her chair and pressing the button on the wall.
"What? Why?" Mark asks.
"The baby is in stress. With each contraction the body works it self more and it becomes more weak..
"Ok! Fine! Take it out! Do whatever you want to do to save our baby!" Lexie says. She looks at Mark and receives Mark's eyes on hers. "We trust you! Whatever you have to do!" Lexie says turning back to Arizona.
Mark passes by me and leans into Arizona.
"If anything, you save her ok? We can make another baby. You just save her!" Mark warns her. I'm about to step in when Arizona looks up at him and says.
"How about I try to save them both? Now you go sit your ass back there and let me do my job!" She says.
I smile at her and Arizona gives me a little smile too. That's my girl!
A nurse comes in.
"What the hell?" She says looking at Arizona on Lexie's legs.
"I need a gram of.." Arizona starts Manding around but the nurse doesn't move.
"And who the hell are you and what to you think you're doing to my patient?" She asks.
"She's the Chief of the Fetal and Pediatrics surgical program in Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital and she is delivering this baby because it only took her one minute into this room to realize this baby was in stress when none of you incompetent doctors in this hospital even had a clue so you do what she says or we'll take you to court for not looking out for your patient's best interest!" I say.
The nurse doesn't say a thing. She does what Arizona tells her to do.
I put Sofia down and go grab a gown to put in front of Arizona.
"Thank you!" She says not taking her eyes from Lexie.
"You're welcome!" I pick Sofia up again and hold her close to me.
Sofia lays her head down on me between Lexie's screams of pain and Arizona's screams of telling Lexie what to do.
"One last push... Go!" Arizona says.
"Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh...." Lexie screams.
"Don't stop Lexie! Just a little more come on! Keep going! Keep going! Ok..." Arizona says and Lexie's hole body relaxes.
I see a baby in Arizona's hands and put Sofia down. She walks next to Mark and I go help Arizona clean the baby. I cut the cord as Arizona stands up rocking the baby.
"Come on little girl! Come on!" She says rocking her back and forth.
When the baby finally cries we all sigh of relief. Arizona hands the baby to Lexie.
Lexie takes it in her arms and looks up at Arizona.
"Thank you!" She says.
Arizona smiles at her.
"You're welcome!"
Arizona takes of her bloody gown and gloves and puts her bracelets and rings back. Picking up Sofia up and resting her in her lap she walks walking to me.
I grab her waist and lay a soft kiss on her.
"You people need to stop going to crappy hospitals! First Derek now you! Seriously!" I say.
Lexie and Mark just smile looking at their new baby.
The nurse from earlier comes back with a carrier.
"We need to take her to do some tests but we'll bring her back soon!" She says.
"Can't you.." Mark starts looking at Arizona.
"It's simple tests. It's easy stuff Mark. An intern could do it! They don't need me.." Arizona says. Mark nods.
"Does she have a name already?" The nurse asks holding the baby's chart.
Lexie looks at Mark.
"Leah Arizona Grey Sloan".
"Because of you" Lexie says looking at Arizona. "She's here. If it wasn't for you we could not have her here so we're going to name her after you!" She says smiling.
Arizona wipes a tear of her eye and smiles.
I grab her closer to me an kiss her cheek.
The nurse takes the baby and Arizona puts Sofia down. She walks to Lexie and sits on her bed.
"Thank you so much!" Mark says coming to us and hugging Arizona. I don't take my arm from around her waist.
"Hand of the merchandise Sloan!" I say.
Mark let's go of Arizona and hugs me. I hug him back with my free hand. "Thank you both! If it weren't for you.." He says.
"You're very welcome! Anytime you need.." Arizona says.
"We are a family... Sort of." I say.
Mark smiles and we smile back.
"Ok, we'll let you rest while we get something to eat!" Arizona says.
I motion to Sofia to come and she grabs mine and Arizona's hand.
We leave the crowded room and head to the hospital's cafeteria.
