It's a long way back

Callie's POV
I'm woken by the sound of rain hitting the glass window of our bedroom.
I slowly open my eyes and take in the beauty in my arms.
Arizona has her eyes closed but her face is peaceful. I place a kiss on her head and hug her a bit tighter, never wanting to let go.
A few minutes later I hear a knocking on the front door.
"Who is it?" Arizona sits up breathing heavy.
"Hey.." I say sitting up and resting a reassuring  hand on her back. "It's probably Mark with Sofia. I'll go check!"
"No!" Arizona pulls me back as I stand up. "It can be him!" She says, fear covering her face.
"It's not!" I say moving to sit in front of her.
"He's been arrested so he can't hurt you anymore! I'll make sure he never lays a singer finger on you again ok? I promise!" I say and pull her to me and wrap my arms around her.
"Here!" I say grabbing my phone from the night stand. I call Mark.
"It's him! Will you get the door?" I ask Arizona.

Arizona's POV
What kind of mother am I if I can't even open the door to let my daughter in?
"Ok.." I say as I look Callie deep in her eyes.
Callie smiles and pulls me behind her downstairs.
As we reach the bottom of the stairs Callie stops and it's my time.
I walk to the door by myself and open it.
A very excited Sofia jump in my arms and I laugh for the first time in weeks.
I kneel down to put her down and just hug her.
"Oh my Sofia.." I say. "Mommy' missed you so much!" I say as I squeeze her tighter.
"Mommy.. To strong!" She says and I smile and let go to look at her. "You've grown! Has she grown?" I ask talking to Mark for the first time.
"Hello to you too and yes, she's definitely taller!"
"Hi Mark!" I say and stand up. Mark leans in and hugs me for a little to long but I don't complain. I guess he hear. Of course he did.
As I turn I see Callie standing beside me with Sofia in her lap.
"Isn't she a little older for that?" I ask her.
"No! She'll always be my baby!" Callie says and sticks her tongue. I've missed this. Family.
"Who wants breakfast?" Callie asks.
"Me!!" Sofia screams and jumps out of Callie's lap and into the kitchen and Callie follows.
"Mark?" I ask.
"I've gotta go, the chefe wants me on a surgery at the hospital but dinner?" He asks.
"Sure!" I say. He gives me another hug and then leaves.

Callie's POV
After breakfast I clean as Arizona helps Sofia unpack.
As I'm passing my purse on the ground to go upstairs my pager rings.
"911 trauma" Damn it.
"Arizona, I've gotta go!" I scream getting my stuff together.
"What?" She runs down the stairs.
"Callie, I'm... I'm not ready... You can't leave Sofia here with me.. I'm.."
"Fine! You're fine. I promise to text as soon as I get to the hospital and to check up on you ok? You'll do fine! You have your car outside and if you need anything you call me and I'll come as fast as I can ok? I hate to have to leave you today but I'm on call. You'll do fine. You're a great mom to Sofia. Just let her choose a game and lunch is in the fridge. I promise to be back before it gets dark." I say looking Arizona in the eyes so she can read my face.
"Promise?" She asks.
"Promise. I love you!" I say and place a soft kiss against her lips.

It's a long three hour away from Arizona. I can't stop thinking about it. Mark found me crying in the closet as I came to get supplies and chased me to the rain and made me hug him. Beside all the distant he never stoped being Mark and is always there no matter what. I let him hug me and then go back inside.

Arizona's POV
To prove to Callie and to myself that I'm good I pull Callie to me. I deepen the kiss and wrap my arm around her neck. Callie's tongue runs against my bottom lip and I give her permission. Our tongues meet for the first time in 20 days and two moans are heard.
After a few seconds I pull back and smile.
"I'm ready!" I say.
"Ok! I'll be back before dark!" Callie says and kisses my temple.
"Bye Sofia!" Callie yells.
"By mommy" Sofia says running down the stairs to give Callie a hug.
We watch Callie leave and I immediately lock the door.
"How about a game?" I say as I turn away from the door and to Sofia.
"Yes!! She says and grabs my hand. How about monopoly?" She says.
"How about Uno?" I say.
"Mommy.." she gives me the Robbins pout. It's not even fair that everything Sofia gives me that face, I fall for it. I invented that face but she just has me wrapped around her finger.
"Fine!" I say and sit on the floor as Sofia gets the game.
