She's away

Callie's POV
Today is the day Mark is bringing Sofia back. It's a week before Christmas and our lives couldn't be more perfect.
I'm at home fixing dinner when I get a text. Because I have a different ring for her I don't need to look at the screen to see its from Arizona.
A - "Don't forget to wash the lettuce! 😘👭💋"
C - "I won't! 👀👌🏻💋"
A - "Even if it says pre-washed, I don't want my girls getting sick!!!!" I laugh.
C - "Yes! Even if it says pre-washed! Don't worry, it'll be perfect! 😘❤️👈🏻"
A - "K! 😘"

I put the phone down and start setting the table.

Arizona's POV
"Keep an eye on the kid on 125 and if his stats get any worst page me!" I tell a nurse giving her the patients charts.
"We'll do Doctor!" She replies.
I'm getting in the elevator when Bailey calls my name.
"I'm going home Bailey!" I say turning to her.
"I know I know! I'm sorry!" Bailey says coming to stand next to me.
"What is it?" I ask.
"I need you to fly to Orlando with Alex to pick up some organs tomorrow!" She says.
"What? No way! It's Christmas time and Sofia is home, finally! I'm not leaving her or Callie at this time Bailey! I'm sorry but no!" I say and get into the elevator that just arrived.
"Robbins please! You'll be back on Christmas Eve! Please!" She begs me with her Bailey eyes.
"Fine! But I'm taking an extra week of after Christmas then!" I scream as the door to the elevator close.
"Whatever you want!" Bailey says and I nod.

As I get home and put my purse and keys down Sofia runs to me.
"Hey baby!" I say kneeling down to pick her up.
"Mommy!" She says cuddling up to me on my neck.
"I've missed you so much baby girl!" I say filling her up with kisses.
Sofia laughs and pushes me away.
"Dinner is ready ladies!" Callie screams from the dining room.
I rush Sofia and help her sit in her chair and then I go to kiss Callie on her chairs.
"I have bad news!" I say as I rub her arms and kiss her cheeks.
"No! What is it?" Callie asks putting her hands on top of my so I can't move away from her.
"Bailey needs me to go pick some organs in Orlando and I won't be back until Christmas Eve!" I say and then go sit down at my chair.
Callie gives me a sad look and I look at her in the same way.
"Bailey can't send anyone else?" Callie asks and I nod no.
She frowns and I frown back. When I look at Sofia she's trying to frown to imitate me and Callie and it makes both me and Callie laugh.
"At least you'll be here for Christmas!" Callie says taking the first bite.
"At least that! God I'm going to miss you two!" I say pouring the wine on my glass.
"Miss you too mommy!" Sofia says.
"It's ok! We'll FaceTime and text!" Callie says putting her hand on top of mine.

Callie's POV
Arizona cleans up the kitchen as I bathe Sofia and then we put her to bed together. Sofia didn't even ask if we were together again, I guess Mark have said something.
Arizona and I get into bed and she pulls me closer to her. I lay my head in her chest so I can hear her heart.
"I'm going to miss this heart!" I say kissing the skin under my head.

Arizona's POV
"I'll be back in 5 days!" I say rubbing Callie's back.
"It's to long!" Callie says.
"I know! But don't make it worst! Let's just enjoy this night!"
Callie looks up smiling and I smile back.
"Goodbye sex?" Callie asks.
"Goodbye sex!" I say.
And there's a lot of sex this night.

Callie's POV
"Sofia let go of mommy, she needs to go!" I say grabbing Sofia who is holding on to Arizona's legs like her life depends on it.
"No! Mommy don't go! Mommy!" Sofia screams as I pick her up and rest her on my waist.
"Mommy will be back in just a few days baby! I promise!" Arizona says kissing Sofia's forehead.
"I love you!" I say cupping Arizona's face with my free hand.
"I love you too!" Arizona says rubbing my cheek and kissing me softly on the lips.
"So much!" Arizona says and kisses me back, this time harder.
I put my hand on the back of her head to keep her as close to me as possible.
Arizona pulls back and rests our foreheads together.
"I'll call you when I land.." Arizona says sadly.
"Ok! Have a good flight!" I say and kiss her temple.
Arizona grabs my hand and intertwines our fingers together and I kiss her hand.
"Robbins let's go!" Alex shouts.
"Coming!" Arizona screams.
We kiss again and then she leaves.
Sofia and I see her body disappear in the crowd.

Arizona's POV
A few hours later we land in Orlando. I fell asleep on the plane and Alex rubbed my back the hole plain ride. If I can't fly with Callie, April or Amy, Alex is my next go to. He knows just how to make me comfortable and after a long week of work this hours or sleep felt like heaven.
I text Callie.
"Landed in Orlando, going straight to the hospital to see if we can collect the organs quicker and so come home earlier. Missing my girls 😰! Love you both so much ❤️! Tell Sofia I love her and I'll bring her a 🛍! I'll see what I can bring you ok? Please don't be sad love, I promise I'll be home as soon as I can! Forever yours, 😘"
Callie responds when we get to the hospital.
"Sofia says she wants a doll. This girl needs to start loving medical stuff! Don't bring me anything. The only thing I need is you and preferably in my arms. Already missing you so much 😞! Come home soon baby! Yours forever 😘!"
I only text her back when I get to the hotel.
"Don't Let Sofia sleep in our bed! Thinking of you as I fall asleep. Love love love love you 😍!"
Callie replies immediately.
"Too late! Thinking of you too! Sleep tight my love! 😍!"
I fall asleep imagining Callie's arms around me and my head on her chest.
