Arizona's POV
It's when the day is ending that this job sucks the most. You have home in mind and you're counting the minutes but then something new comes up.
Parents who just got home to realize their kid has been sick all day. Accidents during dinner preparations. You never know what time you will get home.
"I can't go pick Sofia up, can you do it?" I ask approaching Callie. She's working on a patient.
"No I can't! You'll have to do it!" Callie says not looking at me.
"I just told you I can't and I promised Sofia one of us would pick her up!"
"Ask Mark. I can't!"
"I know you can't, I heard you! Mark is taking care of Lexie. I don't want to bother him."
"Well then call the sitter."
"I can't I..."
"Well then just go pick her up yourself. I've told you I..." Callie interrupts me.
"I now you can't. You made it pretty clear but if you had just heard me you would realize I can't!"
Callie looks at me.
"What's your point then?" Callie asks.
"Never mind.."
"No tell me! Are you saying I don't listen to you? Because I've given you a list of alternatives..."
"You're right you have Callie. You're so great..."
"Arizona..." Callie calls but I'm long way gone.

Callie's POV
I texted Arizona saying I'll be home late for dinner but when I get there there's no sign of her or my kid. Our kid.
"Arizona? Sofia?" I scream. Nothing. Silence.
I grab my phone.
"Mer?"
"Hey!"
"Hi! I just got home. Do you have Sofia?"
"Yes! Arizona brough her to me hours ago. Isn't she there?"
"No! Where is she?"
"I don't know.."
"I'm gonna look for her. Bye Mer, thanks!"
"Ok! Call me if you need anything!"
"I will! Bye!"
I hang up and look out the window.
Arizona's car is here.
"Arizona?" I ask going up the stairs.
I look in every of our house's bedrooms. I find her laying down on the bed of the last one.
"Arizona.." I say standing on the door frame.
"Just go away Callie..." She says. I hear she has been crying.
"Tell me what's wrong!" I say sitting on the bed and rubbing her side.
"Just let me be please.."
"Is it your dad?" I ask her. She still doesn't turn her face to me.
"Callie just leave please.."
"Let me carry you to our bed then!" I say getting up.
"No!" She screams. "Just let me be alone for tonight ok?" Arizona says turning her body to face me.
I lean down and caress her cheek.
"Baby please talk to me. What is it?" I ask her.
"It's nothing. I just need to be alone.." Arizona says.
"Arizona I'm not leaving you alone. We are together. I won't leave you! Please let me hold you!"
"No Callie, really..." Arizona says.
"Is it because of earlier. I did listen to you baby! I just couldn't leave. Please come to bed!" I ask her.
Arizona gives me a small smile and grabs my hand in her cheek.
"It's ok Callie. I get it! I just need some time alone, please.." She pleads.
"You're not leaving me are you?" I ask her, concern filling my hole body.
Arizona cracks up a little. She brings my hand from her cheek to her lips and gives it a soft kiss.
"I would never! I'm fine! Just please go to bed! We'll talk in the morning!" She says.
"Promise?" I ask her.
"Promise!" Arizona says.
I lean down and give her a kiss on her forehead before walking out.

Arizona's POV
It's two am. I can't sleep. How I wish Tim was here. He used to make everything better. Whenever I got bullied or had a fight with a girlfriend Tim used to always make me smile and laugh. In his arms I knew I was safe. Just like I feel in Callie's arms. I need Callie to hold me. To feel her arms around me, holding me tight while I cry. But now Callie is sleeping and Tim is gone so the only thing I have to comfort me is my old friend.
I walk downstairs and open a cabinet door in the dinning room. I get out a glass and notice the bourbon in the back. I grab it.
Hello old friend. It has been a while.
I take a sip and place the drink and the glass on the living room floor before walking back upstairs.
I enter Sofia's bedroom and open the closet. I reach for the very back and grab it. A chill goes down my spine. I carry the guitar downstairs and sit down.
Before opening the case I take another sip. Pulling the guitar from its case I remember so many things. I remember the nights Tim and I used to spend in our tree house. Tim played and I sang. We used to spend hours singing just looking at the stairs. No one knows I know how to play. That Tim taught me. Although I never got rid of it. It was Tim's guitar and I was always afraid that if I played it after he died, that it would made him go away. But tonight I need him.
I place the guitar on my lap and touch the cords. I close my eyes trying to feel his hands on the cords. Trying to feel him in his guitar. How I wish, how I wish you were here. How I wish dad was here. How am I going to take care of mom alone?
After a few tears and another sip I start playing. Random notes, random sounds until it comes back to me.
"Oh can't you see
I'm falling down
Trying to breathe
I'm all cried out" As soon as I begin, tears come streaming down my face.
"I'm just a girl with a
Lot of worries in a world
That doens't care
I'm just a girl with a
Thousand stories calling out
But there's no one there
And I needed you tonight
But you've gone to heaven
And if you could see me now
Would you remember
How you use to hold me close
How you always felt like home
And I know I feel alone
But there's an angel looking out for me tonight
There's an angel looking out for me tonight
I'm giving in
Where do I go?
You left me here
The world is cold
I'm just a girl with a
Lot of worries in a world
That doens't care
I'm just a girl with a
Thousand stories calling out
But there's no one there
And I needed you tonight
But you've gone to heaven
And if you could see me now
Would you remember
How you use to hold me close
How you always felt like home
And I know I feel alone
But there's an angel looking out
I sing for you tonight
This songs of heaven
And I'll keep singing loud
'Till you remember that
That I always hold you close
I will make my way back home
And I know I feel alone
But there's an angel looking out for me tonight
There's an angel looking out for me tonight
There's an angel looking out for me tonight"
I lean back, resting my head on the couch closing my eyes.
"I didn't know you played.." Callie speaks from behind.
"I don't!" I say not opening my eyes.
"I looked for you but then I heard the guitar and came down stairs.." Callie says almost in a whisper. I know she's playing with her hands and that if she could she would be playing with mine.
"Well you found me..." I say.
"I'm sorry.. I.. I'll just..." Callie starts moving.
"No!" I open my eyes. "I'm sorry I didn't mean it to sound like that! Please come, sit down here with me!" I look at her.
Callie walks into the living room and takes a sit next to me where the glass of bourbon was. She smells it.
"Jesus, at this hour?" She asks me.
"He's an old friend.." I say finally making eye contact with her.
As soon as Calliope's eyes meet mine her face falls and she's now looking at me like if I don't break, she will.
"He died didn't he?" She asks me.
I nod and Callie immediately pulls me to her. I crawl into a ball and let her pull me into her lap. I rest my head in her chest and just bowl.
"Sh.... It's ok baby... Sh I'm here! It's ok baby... It's ok to cry... I got you... I got you...." Callie reassures me as she rubs my back.
After a while she picks me up and carries me to the couch. Callie leans back and pulls me to her.
"Please don't fall asleep!" I ask her.
"I won't! I promise! I'll stay awake with you! It's ok! I'm here! I'm not going anywhere!" Callie says before kissing my head.
"Promise?" I look up at her.
"I promise!"
"And please don't die! I wouldn't make it if you died.." Arizona says.
"I won't! I'm not going to die baby! It's me and you till eternity! Me and you sweet girl! I promise!" I reassure her.
Arizona smiles sinking in what I told her and that though calms her down. A few minutes latter I hear her breathing slow down.
"I love you!" I whisper but she has drifted of to sleep. I wait a few moments before resting her on the couch and getting up.
Where's my phone? Where's my phone?
When I find it I call Amy and walk back to the living room to watch Arizona but not to close not to wake her.
"Hey! I'm sorry to bother you but I need a favor." "Do you have a pen?" "Send an intern to grab me: twelve donuts, 4 of them half chocolate half vanilla with rainbow sprinkles (Arizona's favorites), 4 Starbucks chocolate chips cookies, the large ones, 2 mocha lathes and 2 regular coffees, a pack of cigarettes" "no, I don't know what kind, I don't smoke.. Which ever is the best!" "And I need gummy bears, sweet and sower, a pepperoni pizza and an apple crumble with vanilla ice scream.." "A chocolate mousse wouldn't hurt either.." "I don't care where he finds an apple crumble and a chocolate mousse at 2 am I just know that it he doesn't before 6 am I'm making his life hell" "it's for Arizona.. Her father.. She'll tell you in the morning. She just needs us right now so can you send an intern to my house with that?" "Thank you so much Amy!"
Arizona starts moving in the couch and patting it looking for me.
"I gotta go! Bye Amy thank you!" I whisper before quickly putting my phone down and running to Arizona before she opens her eyes.
I grab her and move her to the side laying down next to her again.
"It's ok baby. I just had to call Amy for something. I'm here. You rest. I got you baby. I'm not leaving!" I say grabbing her and pulling her on top of me as I wrap my arms around her.
