Work and Family

Callie's POV
I have Sofia on my lap and my purse in hand and we're getting out the door.
"Do you have everything?" I ask Arizona as I lock the door.
Arizona takes Sofia from me. "Yes! You?" She asks as I unlock the car.
"I think so! Did you.."
"Yes! Fish fingers for day care, I put them in the car already!"
"Thank you! And did you..." I say getting into the car as Arizona buckles Sofia.
"New lipstick inside your purse, yes!" Arizona says.
I smile at her and she gets in.
"I love that we..."
"Finish each other sentences?" Arizona says getting inside the car and puts her seat belt on.
"Yes!  And I..."
Arizona opens her mouth but I cut her off.
"Upupup! I love you! Now stop interrupting me!" I say leaning in to give her a peck on the lips.
"Sorry..." Arizona says as I start the car.
"So what do you have today?" Arizona asks me.
"I'm going to help Amelia with some cartilage stuff that she needs for a surgery.. You?"
"Nothing big, two risky c-sections and a whipple..." Arizona says looking out the window.
"A whipple? You're doing a whipple on a baby?" I ask her.
Arizona laughs. "Of course not on a baby! On a 12 year old, it's his only chance.." Arizona says smirking. I love her nervous smirk. She's so cute!
"Well.. Then thank God he has the best surgeon in the world!" I say taking a glimpse of her reaction. Arizona looks at me and smiles.
"Thank you!" She says before reaching behind me to it Sofia's Blanket that had fallen. That girl always falls asleep in the car in the morning.
"For always making me feel safe.." Arizona ads putting her hand on my lap.
I take her hand and intertwine our fingers before Arizona takes our hands and rest them in her lap.
"You're welcome! You've always done the same for me!" I tell her.
Arizona leans and rests her head on my shoulder for a second.
"We have to start planning our summer vacations.." Arizona says.
"We do? It's April..."
"I know but the sooner we tell Bailey the days we want the better!" Arizona says.
"I don't know if we can have a lot of days this summer. With all the trips to see Sofia, the days I took when we did our "30 days thing" and the ones we took just stayed home to cuddle.. I don't think how many I have left..." I tell her.
Arizona thinks for a second and again, does her cute smirking and then she says:
"We'll take the two weeks in August to go to Florida and then we can ask Bailey for another two weeks. For all the days and nights we did extra hours, I think it's time she pays us back!" Arizona says.
I laugh.
"Ok! We'll do love, we'll do!"
"What you don't believe I'll ask her? Oh I'll ask her!" Arizona says putting her game face on.
I can't help but laugh again.
"Ok! I'll let you be then one to ask her.."
"Hm... If you were planning on asking, you can! I wouldn't mind!" Arizona says.
"You wouldn't mind?"
Arizona shakes her head no.
"Ok, then I'll ask, as you don't mind.." I play with her, knowing that with all her authority issues there was a 90 probability that I would end up being the one to ask Bailey for extra days off.

Arizona's POV
After I turned on the radio and a couple of songs later we arrive at the hospital.
Callie unbuckles Sofia and we Carrie her by hand.
"Hey little munchkin!" Amelia says.
"Auntie Amy!!" Sofia screams and runs to Amy.
Amy hugs her and then me and Callie as well.
"Big day today Torres!"
"Big day in deed!" Callie says grabbing Sofia's hand.
I give her a question look and Callie just nods not giving it any importance.
"Well, I'll take Sof to day care and let you guys get working! Come on Sof!" I say giving my hand for Sofia to grab.
"So let's get to the lab!" Amy says and she and Callie walk opposite directions then me and Sofia.

Callie's POV
I've been stuck in the lab all morning while Amy does her normal everyday job. Not fair. If only Arizona didn't have that big surgery we could be texting by now.

Arizona's POV
Before my surgery I decide to make time and go visit Bailey at her office.
We talk and I ask her for the extra days, it took a little bit of convincing to do but she eventually said yes. Great!
Because I have done all my pre-surgery work and still have extra time, I decide to go give Callie a visit in the lab.

Callie's POV
"Hey!" Arizona says opening the door.
I turn so quickly to her that I get a headache.
"Hey! What are you doing here?" I ask her.
"Coming to give you some company! Any luck?" She asks giving me a kiss on the cheek and then sitting on my lap.
"Not yet! I like the braids!" I tell her as I rest my head in her shoulder and take in her scent.
"Thank you! You know how I always play with my hair when I study and it ended in these.."
"Cute!" I say shaking another glass with liquid cartilage.
"Damn it!" I say.
Arizona grabs my hand around the cup and shakes it.
"It's ok! We have time! Try again!" She says and I do.
