Brooke Johnson’s P.O.V.
I was calmly sitting in the library reading one of my favorite books when someone came up behind me and snatched it away.
“Hey, give it back!” I yelled as the librarian gave me a stern look.
The mysterious person handed me back my book, but instead of my book mark being tucked between the pages a note written on ancient beige parchment was there. I pulled out the note and read it. It said, "Want to know why you’re so smart? Come to the local park at 3:00 tomorrow. All your questions will be answered then.
I glanced back to see if I could catch a glimpse of the mysterious person who placed the note in my book, but the person seemed to have disappeared.
“Hmm…” I hummed quietly to myself.
I did need answers to why I was so smart but I also wanted to know who held those answers. Now, I was filled with anticipation for tomorrow. What could this person possibly tell me to explain why I was a genius? Everyone I knew assumed I was a cheater because of my knowledge. So, I didn’t imagine he /she could tell me much. It was probably just a prank. If it was I would be disappointed, but I wouldn’t try to get revenge.
“I hope this isn’t a prank.” I mumbled to myself.
“It isn’t.” Said a voice behind me. I whipped my head around to see my Mom walking over to get me.
“Did you just say that, Mom?” I asked.
“Say what?” She asked dumbfounded.
“Never mind.” I replied.
Who said that, I wondered. I gathered my things and walked out of the library with my Mom, hoping that tomorrow would come quickly.
