Sophie's P.O.V.

Destruction always follows where we go. I'm not even exaggerating. It's a good thing I'm not at home with my family and friends right now. This wouldn't have happened if Pan hadn't come to me in the first place. Or if the gods hadn't chosen Austin and me. But, there is a consolation--I get to be with Anthony!

When I finally woke up, I was lying in a soft twin bed. Just from my surroundings, I could tell I was no longer in Phillip's mansion. The room was smaller and the walls were just wooden. There wasn't anything fancy about this place as far as I could tell. I sat up and stretched; my limbs were stiff. I realized I was probably unconscious for at least two days. You don't get that stiff from sleeping for one day. I tried to stand up, but a wave of dizziness washed over me. Thankfully, Anthony came in to check on me.

"Hey, you're up!" Anthony studied my features.

"How long was I out?" I asked.

"Approximately three days, maybe longer. I haven't really been keeping track of time." He explained.

"Where are we?" I closed my eyes as a headache overwhelmed me.

"In the hideout I was telling you about a few days ago. Do you feel like coming to the living room?" He scrutinized my face.

"Yeah, mind helping me up?" Anthony grabbed my hands and pulled me up, just a little to fast for my liking.

My legs seemed too weak to support my weight, although I was a measly 93.6 pounds. Then, images flashed through my head. I saw the goons who had chased us. I saw my tornadoes knocking them down on contact. At first, when I dreamt of it, I thought they had just been nightmares, but I was mistaken. It was reality. All of those thoughts flashed through my head in a matter of seconds. In the amount of time it took me to think of those things, my knees wobbled and I fell. Technically, I  almost fell, considering Anthony caught me at the last second.

"Thanks." I glanced at his face before my eyes flickered down to my feet.

"I don't think you should walk." Anthony warned.

"But, I want to see the others." I argued.

"Sophie, just stay in here, please. We can't afford for you to be weak. We can be attacked at any moment." He urged me to stay.

"I won't get stronger if all I do is lay down." I stared at him.

Anthony realized he was still holding on to me. He steadied me then let go.

"You won't get stronger if you use up all your strength." He had a valid point.

I weakly pushed pass him and continued my way out the door. He came up behind me and steered me towards the living room. I didn't take in my surroundings. I was worried if I got distracted I might lose my footing. A few times I stumbled, but Anthony always managed to catch me. We made it to the living room just as Valerie joined Austin on the couch. She saw me and smiled.

"I was afraid we lost you!" She smiled.

"Well, you didn't." I smiled wanly.

"You look pale." Of course, leave it to Austin to be the most pessimistic.

"I wonder why?" I reply sarcastically.

Anthony helped me towards the couch and I eased myself down, feeling like an old crippled lady once again. We sat in silence for a while. Anthony paced back and forth. He had something on his mind, I wondered what it was.

"Sophie, what happened last year? Why do you weigh only about ninety pounds?" He stopped in front of me for a moment, then continued pacing.

"We'll take that as our cue to leave." Valerie pulled Austin off his feet and they headed towards one of many doors.
