Austin's P.O.V.
I heard Sophie scream and I ran onto the living room. An intruder must have broken in, I thought.
"Soph?" I called her name and saw her gasping on the couch.
"I'm...I'm okay." She assured me.
"Then, why did you scream?" I asked.
"Just a nightmare." She responded.
"What happened in it?" I wondered.
"Artemis told me that I can't have any relationships with a guy as long as she is inside of me. Then She came at me. Artemis came at me. Clutching for my throat." She looked at me with a terrified expression on her face, "She said if I didn't follow her rules then I would feel an intense burning pain. But I can't do that...She chose me so she'll have to deal with my feelings, right? If not then I want her out!"
"Calm down, Soph. We're going to get through this. Don't worry about anything. I'm sure nothing will happen to you." I said, hoping she didn't hear my voice quiver.
"I hope." She replied, lying in her back and closing her eyes once again.
I walked back to my room and sat there, thinking about the future. If Sophie actually had a relationship with one of the guys, I knew she liked Anthony but I don't know who else, would she actually feel an intense burning pain? Having a hard math exam right now sounds like heaven compared to this.
Sophie's P.O.V.
Later in the day I ran into Anthony a few times. And every time I did, I would just look at the ground and hurry away. I was terrified of what might happen. Then, Phillip decided to introduce a new person to us.
"This is Valerie Peters. She will be one of the trainers." Phillip introduced Valerie and then left her with us to mingle.
I glanced at my brother whose jaw had dropped. He was in love with this girl. Who, sadly, is fourteen. The same age as him. A year younger than Anthony. The same age as Riley and Josiah. Then I turned to look at Anthony, who was talking with Valerie. He was smiling and looked very happy. I couldn't believe it! Every time we were together he was so tense and unhappy. I felt like just screaming.
I walked over to Valerie and took a seat. They were talking about sword training. All the guys were drooling over her. The girls were off to the side talking to one another. I looked around, thinking that someone was missing, and noticed that it was Cameron. He and Brooke were on the opposite side of the room talking to each other intently. When I zoned back into the conversation, I found out that she was going to be training Riley first. Then Anthony. Then Josh. Then Josiah. Then Austin. Then Vincent. And last was Cameron. I felt so jealous of her.
"I'd like to see you beat me!" Anthony said arrogantly.
"I'd like to see any boy beat me! No one had yet beat me! So want to battle now? In front of everyone, of course!" Valerie challenged him.
"You're on!" They shook hands and grinned.
"Okay, everyone listen up! Anthony and I will be having a battle to see who is the best! Everyone is invited to watch right now!" Valerie announced and then everyone went to the arena.
I sat on one of the benches by myself and watched the battle silently. At first it looked like Anthony would win, but then Valerie attacked him. It was an intense battle. I thought that Anthony would win for sure, considering that he's a guy and older than her. But in the end, she beat him. She gave him a good butt whooping.
I grinned, "Not so tough now." I mumbled to myself.
"Who's next?" Valerie said triumphantly.
Every boy faced her and got defeated. The only person who came close to beating her was Cameron. He slipped up and made the wrong move in the end.
