Kaylie Knight’s P.O.V.
“In your dreams, Jake.” I replied. Jake Schmidt had just asked me if I would like to go on a date with him and of course I said no. He only wanted to date me because I was pretty. I mean, that's why most guys dated girls.
I walked passed him and entered the classroom. There was a note waiting on my desk. It was written on ancient beige parchment. It said, “Meet me at the local park tomorrow at 3:00. I expect to see you there. If you’re not there, we will find you”. Whoever wrote this knew me. I didn’t go anywhere with anyone that sent me a note unless they had a valid reason. I was only going to go to the park because there was something about this note. It felt as if someone was going to reveal something to me.
“Attention class.” Mrs. Fox set her briefcase on the desk, preparing to being class.
I slipped the note into my pocket and looked up. Mrs. Fox started talking about some projects we would be doing and a few field trips we would be going on. I wasn’t focusing on what she was saying though. I was thinking about the note. Who could have sent it? Who would be so ominous? All the boys who sent me a note to meet them somewhere put their names at the bottom. This was just so…weird.
I hoped that it wouldn’t be a mistake going to the park to meet whoever the person was. Maybe they’d tell me that I'd won somethine or other? Or maybe they would be telling me about some of the things I've been doing. Whatever the reason, I hope there be witnesses just in case.
