(Multiple P.O.V.'s)
Jason's P.O.V.
Sophie had ran up to me and pulled me into a hug before I could finish my sentence. She was paler than I remembered. She seemed weak.
It was a chilly day, especially with the rain starting to pour down and the strong winds. The wind blew my hood off of my head, revealing my auburn hair and green eyes. Sophie's long brown hair flowed in the wind behind her. Her big blue eyes were full of tears. She was smiling so I knew they were tears of happiness.
"You still came to the woods with all this rain?" I asked incredulously.
"I needed to get a bit of my old life back. Plus, my aim's getting terrible." Sophie explained.
"Anthony, want to go and get a bite? I'll drive because I know you wouldn't be caught dead in a purple mini-van, which means you 'borrowed' it." I offered.
"Sure, it will give you and Sophie time to catch up. I think I'll go back to the hideout. You two should be alone." Anthony looked at Sophie and me.
"Anthony, please come?" Sophie seemed like she genuinely wanted him to come.
"Alright, I'll come." He gave into her puppy dog face.
Anthony walked over to us and Sophie immediately grabbed his hand. They must be dating. I remember Anthony saying something about a hot girl he had recently started to date. I should have known. I was away from Sophie too long and she moved on.
I led the way through the forest. There was no set path so we had to weave through tree after tree. The forest was dense and there was a canopy of leaves blocking out the sky, which shielded us from most of the rain. I noticed Sophie shivering and stopped to give her my hoodie. She was coughing and sniffling, which led me to think she was sick or injured to some degree.
We made it back to my car without getting soaked to the bone. My car, a.k.a my "baby", was a black Ford mustang. It was ancient, but it ran like it was as good as new. Sophie got into the passenger's seat and Anthony slid into the backseat. Once everyone was buckled, I drove off.
My windshield wipers were going as fast as the could, due to the pouring rain. Sophie was rubbing her hands furiously together. She was freezing. All the color had drained from her body.
"What happened to you?" My eyes flickered toward Sophie for a moment.
"Multiple run-ins with Vaughn." She replied.
"You seem terrible." I replied.
"Thanks." She replied sarcastically.
"You know what I mean." We come to a stop and a red light and I take the time to examine her.
"You're in terrible shape. You're horribly pale. And you chose the rainiest day possible to go and practice archery?" A smile dances across her lips.
The light turns green again and I head to the closet fast-food restaurant I know of. McDonald's. We get there in about ten minutes. Sophie is still wearing my hoodie, but I don't mind. She needs it more than I do. We run inside of the restaurant as fast as we can and order our food. Sophie gets a ten-piece chicken nugget meal, Anthony gets a big mac, and I get a cheeseburger and fries. We all got a coke. I lead them over to an empty booth. Anthony and Sophie sit on one side and I sit on the other. Then we eat in silence. Complete and utter silence.
I'm a man of few words. Silence is absolutely fine for me. Although, this situation is awkward.
"Are you two dating?" I blurt out.
