Welcome everyone!
So, I really didn't wanna do an "NMT" on this movie, I was just gonna do a simple rating, but this movie peaked my interest....even before I watched it...
Before it released in theaters, I already read into the movie, and knew what the plot was going to be. And I'm pretty sure most of you who didn't see it, didn't want to because you thought: "What kind of plot would an Angry Birds movie have?"
Well, the answer is an origins story! An origins story on how these birds became angry. Yes, you can assume that the pigs stole the eggs from the birds, and now they're at war.
You're right, except that this movie goes more in depth on how it all actually started; it explains why the pigs want the eggs and why it seems like there's more than just "anger" between birds and pigs in the video games (if you've ever noticed).
The movie does come off as a children's movie, but I personally enjoyed it- they actually managed to sneak in two sex jokes that kids would never understand until they're older 😂
Along with its wit, there's charm, satire, and many forms of humor for ALL ages. This is a movie parents probably wouldn't mind being dragged along to, this is a perfect family movie. There hasn't been a family movie like this since Shrek! And if some of you have gone back and watched Shrek as of recent, you'll know all that you missed out on as a child 😂
I can't really say much more about this movie, or I would definitely spoil- but for those fanatics who haven't seen the movie, but absolutely loved all of their games (including Bad Piggies), The Angry Birds Movie stays true to the roots and makes all the necessary references! I give this movie a 4.4/5.
Gamers, there hasn't been a video game movie like this in a long time, and as a common gamer, I'm glad it was The Angry Birds Movie who paved the way....although, I wish Super Mario Bros. or more recently, Ratchet & Clank and Warcraft have done so....although I haven't seen either yet, but I heard they didn't do too hot....well, Warcraft due to the lack of common audience, that was a movie for the fans I believe...
