5/5; but I have some subnotes about its imperfections to go with it...

I gave "Deadpool 2" a perfect score, because it's predecessor had that score...

So yes, to me, the sequel was "as good" as the first- BUT, that's also kind of the problem.

You see, they were right when they said you don't need to see "Deadpool" to understand the sequel. They did a quick catch-up in the beginning with some re-introductions, in a way that they still show each character's personality as if it was the first time.

But, this movie also borrowed a lot of things from the first part, and while it is Deadpool, some of it felt redundant. "Deadpool 2" was packed with humor, especially with Deadpool's clever one-liners, but there were some things that were repeated that didn't ring as well the second time around. There were only several jokes I can remember that really stuck to me for that movie, because they were original and different in respects to that movie. However, I can't really penalize the movie that hard for it, because even though it felt stressed, that may have been the point. Deadpool is an obnoxious and annoying character; so if that was a way to be obnoxious and annoying, then it was probably a good call...

Probably...

Now, like I said, it was still a pretty funny movie, but they actually re-weighted the balance a bit. This movie had more action than humor. Which isn't too bad, because "Deadpool" was a bit short, and I kind of wanted to see more fighting and gore- which "Deadpool 2" succeeded at. Very fast-paced action and more gore than the last movie.

So, where there were improvements, there were also downgrades that went with it- which just rebalances it to the level of "Deadpool." In the end, I felt like not too much was done to make it stand out from the last movie. In fairness, as stated before, it wasn't trying to be too much of a sequel.

Nonetheless, I still really liked the movie! It was fun to sit through, and I actually appreciated the extra 20 min as opposed to "Deadpool;" it was also a significant difference to be noted! It wasn't perfect, but it was still as watchable as the first.

So, if you're expecting it to be "better" than the first like they hyped it, eh, you win some and lose some there. If you don't have much expectations, then you'll have a blast! I went into this with a bit of both sides: it was hyped to be entirely better than the first, but it's "Deadpool," so all surprises- good or bad- were kind of expected.

Thus, my "5/5."
