Let's make this clear, for those who have seen the trailer, DO NOT TRUST IT.
They marketed it as a comedy movie, but it's genre is actually Drama/Sci-Fi.
Be warned.
My parents didn't like it so much because of that. Luckily, I did my research and enjoyed it a bit more.
Comedy is definitely a main element in the movie, but it wasn't critical. This movie displayed a wide range of feelings: love, sadness, happiness, etc.
"Downsizing" is a deep "What-If" movie, which really goes through the life of someone who's finding out his purpose in life. It's very interesting, but again, the trailers really throw you a curveball, and this shows that the creative minds were really trying to just lure people in for something that it really isn't.
Despite the false advertising, it had a pretty decent story, good flow, many would say it was slow, but I say the time was well-used for plot development.
