Dylan O'Brien...
No longer will be only known as the star of a popular teenager series (Maze Runner).
In this movie, "American Assassin," O'Brien improved his reputation as an actor and not just some eye-candy to write about on Wattpad.
Through gore, a dark story, intense action, some plot twists, and a cast that worked well with the protagonist, O'Brien stole the show in this spy/thriller- however, even if the characterization picked itself up later on, O'Brien's character lacked a bit of background at the beginning of the movie.
The movie would have been fun enough to watch for even several more minutes, and that amount of time would have been perfect for character his development. I personally feel they time-jumped too far just to show off a bit. Wasn't bad showing off, but it did feel a bit forced upon.
"American Assassin" is a 4.92/5. Well done, Dylan O'Brien! Can't wait to see your career post-Maze Runner!
