I HAVE A SONG FOR THIS CHAPTER: DON'T DESERVE YOU-PLUMB. I FOUND IT, WHEN WATCHING PRETTY LITTLE LIARS.
I walked with Ryan to school. The silence was deadly, we take our separate paths when we reach school. At recess time, the group sensed something was off between us. Even though we sat next to each other I felt like we were miles apart. I felt horrid for shutting him out. He deserved to know. Drake tried to be funny all recess but it wasn't helping.
"Knock Knock" He says, Emily glares at him to shut up. He gets the message and tries to eat his crackers in silence but ends up choking, I start laughing. " I wasn't even trying to be funny. And why are you laughing, I could have died" He states seriously when he stopped choking. By now the whole group was laughing.
When the bell rings I hold Ryan back, " Look, can I talk to you after school?" I ask.
"I....We have cricket practice after school." He says. Shit. I think, I completely forgot about that with Ryan and all.
"I might skip, I didn't bring my stuff, and I'm not wearing sport appropriate clothing. What about after practice? Come to our tree at around 5pm?" I try again.
"Okay, after practice I have to run down to the shops for mum so I might be a bit late." He replys. I heave a sign of relief.
"That's fine. I'll see you at 5 then." I give him a kiss on the cheek before I quickly walk away to class. I was going to tell Ryan to truth, the plain hard truth.
......
After school, I am walking through the car park when I hear someone call my name.
"Cas" It was Brandon, "Where are you going? We have practice."
"I can't go I didn't bring my stuff and I'm not really wearing clothes to do sport in." He nods when he looks at the yellow dress I am wearing.
" I have some spare clothes and shoes in my car. Do you want them?" He asks.
"Yeah. Sure." I follow him to his car and he pulls out a slightly large shirt and shorts with shoes.
"These should fit" He says, "See you on the pitch." I head down to the changing room and pull on his clothes. They were sort of big on me but they were good enough to do practice in.
I make my way down to the pitch, I see Ryan sending a glare at Brandon. I don't think he was happy Brandon lent me some clothes.
.....
By the end of practice, I was really tired out. I yell to Brandon," Hey, do you want your clothes back?"
He comes towards me and says, " You sure? You pull off this look very well." He grins flirtatiously. Ryan hears and I see him angrily stuffing his gear into his bag. He storms off. I don't smile, Brandon shouldn't be flirting with me like that.
"I'll give them to you next time I see you." I say.
Brandon continues grinning, "Sure thing." I make my way home slowly and enter my house to be met with silence. I suppose Vi was out. Just as I make my way to my room, the door knocks. I rush downstairs, maybe Ryan was early, and open the door to see Brandon smiling at me.
"Hey?" I say unsure of what he was here for. Did he follow me home?
"Hey, I just wanted to make sure you made it home safely , normally Ryan walks with you. I saw him leave in his car." He says, "Are you guys okay?"
"To be honest, I don't know. Why?" I say biting my lip. Brandon lingered on my door step looking uncomfortable about what he had to say.
"Look, the real reason I came here is to apologize." He looks guilty.
