Chapter Forty

"Come on, Lee Lee, you can do it!" Tobi shouted as I pushed the buttons on the controller. I was facing off against JJ in a match of FIFA. So far the game was tied 1-1. Simon still wasn't home but called earlier to say he wouldn't be long.

Nikki was sat closer to Harry than normal. Hmmm... maybe she's just sitting closer so she can see the TV better. The both of them had smiles on their faces which I have noticed they smile a lot more, especially when they are around each other.

"Yes, bitch! Suck it!" JJ yelled as his player scored a goal and the game ended. He stood up and started to do a victory dance.

"Fuck!" I yelled as I stood up and threw the controller onto the couch. JJ did his famous laugh and put his arm around my neck. He brought my head close to his chest and put his other hand in my hair and ruffled it. I huffed and tried to get out of his grip.

The front door suddenly opened and then slammed shut followed by the sound of multiple locks clicking closed. JJ's grip loosened and I got away and rushed to the door to see Simon leaning his back against the door.

"She's in London," he said with a dazed look on his face. He slid to the floor and that's when I realized that all of the bags of groceries he bought were dropped there.

I froze and just looked at him. We looked straight into each other's eyes. We must have been like that for a while because Ethan came in and reached his hand out to help Simon to his feet.

Simon immediately wrapped his arms around my small, stiff body. Lachlan, Preston, and Ethan carried the bags off to the kitchen and Simon led me to the living room and sat with me on the couch.

"What's wrong?" Jerome asked and everyone else shook their heads I agreement. All of a sudden, Nikki burst into tears. She must have already figured it out. Harry immediately put his arms around her and comforted her. Okay there is definitely something going on between them.

"She's in London," Simon spoke out somewhat quiet. "I saw her while I was doing my shopping, I have no idea if she saw me or not."

I started to shake a bit and Simon's grip on me tightened. I closed my eyes and took deep breaths.

"Right now I think it would be best if we all figured out where we are sleeping and get some rest. We're all tired and stressed right now and sleep would sure help right now," Josh said as we were all now in the same room.

"Okay so let's see.... Josh, Simon, and Lee should share Simon's room, Tobi, Harry, and Nikki in her old room. Then me, JJ, and Lachlan in my room. Jerome, Mitch, and Ethan in Josh's room. Preston and Rob in JJ's room. Is everyone okay with that?" Vikk directed. There was a chorus of nods and yes's.

We all decided to head to our respective rooms. Josh brought a bunch of blankets and a sleeping bag up to Simon's room and laid it all out on the floor. He piles them high so that he could lye on some and cover up with the others. We three got into our beds for the night and shut the lights out.

This is going to be a long, sleepless night. I could tell Simon was thinking the same thing from the way his arms were around me. I could tell he was nervous.

I put my hand to his cheek and he sighed at the contact. I moved my face to his and our lips connected in a needy and passionate kiss. I pulled away and turned around so my back was to his chest. He wrapped his arms around me and rested his hands on my stomach, our child. He started to trace shapes on me and I closed my eyes and let myself forget about everything. I slowly drifted into sleep.
