Jess / Sophie

"It was good last night, you missed out on so much when you left." Aaron captured Sophie's attention as she eagerly looked around for Jess.

"Did I really though? Or was it just a bunch of you just getting really drunk?"

"Something like that." Aaron chuckled as his eyes went back to the reading he was supposed to of done before his seminar this morning.

He tended to make life so much more difficult for himself as instead of just doing it in advance so he didn't have to worry about it, he would continue to leave things until the last minute. Unlike Jack, Aaron did actually care about getting a decent grade yet he just didn't seem to have the full motivation or organisational skills to get him there.

He was still in the mind-set of the school days when you would constantly get told what to do and when to do it. It was different now and the daily timetable and list of things to do were not verbally spoken to you anymore, it was for you to figure out for yourself.

You were in charge of your own learning however, in Aaron and Jack's mind that meant soaking up all the free time doing things that seemed more fun. However, in the long run it was just wasting their time.

"Jess!" Sophie called out the moment she caught sight of her making her way into the café.

As usual, she was minding her own business, as her thoughts were lost in whatever lecture she had later on in that day.

Noticing Sophie and Aaron sat at a table; she began making her way over and took a seat next to her buzzing best friend who was clearly ready to pounce on her with questions.

"Has he text you or anything?" Sophie immediately asked the moment she sat down and Jess began laughing.

"Morning to you too."

"Has he?" Sophie then asked again, to which Jess shook her head.

She knew she was talking about Jack, there was doubt about it but Sophie didn't have anything to worry about. Jess had left when Sophie left last night and she was pretty glad that she did too. Jack was such a difficult character to engage in conversation with and everyone else besides Sophie was too drunk to communicate with anyway.

"Are you talking about Jack?" Aaron looked up to try to catch onto their conversation, considering it seemed much more interesting than the reading he was currently trying to do.

"Yeah." Sophie confirmed before he grinned.

"Did you have fun last night then? What did you think of his room?"

Sophie could tell he was merely teasing and hoped Jess had caught on with it too. This whole thing was nothing new for Aaron considering he saw it happen on a daily basis so he had just learned to make a joke out of it.

"Aaron." Sophie bit when she realised Jess had assumed he seriously thought she had slept with him. "She left when I left."

"I know, I'm kidding." He chuckled, placing his pen down and relaxing back into his chair. "Some other random chick got lucky instead. She came charging out of his room this morning in full panic because she was late for a lecture."

Sophie didn't know what Jess thought of Jack but she didn't dare look to see her reaction. Jack had spent a lot of time engaged in conversation with the three of them but the moment Sophie and Jess left, he had obviously left Aaron and gone on a search for any other girls that wanted his attention.

It was a typical night for Jack but it wasn't something to be proud of.

"He's so gross." Sophie pulled a face, not hiding the fact that she was so disgusted by his behaviour.
