The next morning...
"Why are you up at this time, Aaron?" Sophie mumbled as she felt his body trying to escape from hers.
She had previously been sound asleep with her arms tightly wrapped across him as she enjoyed the peace of her dreams. However, that was soon brought to an end as Aaron attempted to make his escape without waking her.
"Go back to sleep, baby. I just have training." He soothed, running a hand over her hair before pressing his lips to her head.
"What? Already?" Sophie suddenly felt very awake at those words that now terrified her. "I thought you were taking some time off."
"I was and it's been nearly a week. I need to get back."
Aaron began making his way around the room, collecting his belongings and stuffing them in his gym bag. Sophie sat up in bed watching his every move, trying to figure out how to say what she wanted to without causing arguments.
"Do you really think this is a good idea?" She mumbled, regretting saying it the moment the words left her mouth.
"What do you mean?"
"Training again... with Reck. You know, after everything that we found out about Andrew, don't you think it's a little dangerous?"
Aaron didn't say anything for a moment as he just looked across at Sophie and judged the emotions running across her face. Deep down he had known this was going to happen and knew he would have to figure out how to deal with this in the most sensitive way.
He knew this wasn't easy for Sophie or Juliet but Aaron also couldn't help but not feel the same fear regarding Reck as they did. He had trained with him for so many years and nothing had ever given him any reason to feel doubtful. Therefore, he wasn't quite sure that he should just throw that all away now.
"I promise you it's not dangerous, Soph. It's the same as it's always been." Aaron began cautiously as he made his way back over to the bed and took a seat on the edge of it.
Reaching out for her hands, he gave them a gentle squeeze before continuing.
"What happened to your brother and Kieran was awful and unforgivable. I'm not excusing the part Reck played in it but I need him as my trainer. He knows me, he knows my fighting technique and it's not that easy to just go elsewhere. I would be starting from scratch and I need to be winning fights. I need the money."
"I get that! I know it's important but... what if Reck pushes you too far. What if he gives you a hard time because of us? It's pretty clear he that hates the fact we're together." Sophie stressed. She could see the desperation on Aaron's face but she was also desperate for him to understand where she was coming from.
This wasn't just some intense and grumpy trainer anymore. He had shown his true colours and how heartless he could really be.
"He doesn't hate it, he just doesn't get how I can do both. I'm proving to him I can. He's not going to get in the way of anything, I promise you."
Sophie was far from convinced by Aaron's words but she knew they would never see eye to eye on this. She was full of fear but he was full of confidence and they were finding a difficulty at meeting in the middle.
"It's going to be okay." Aaron mumbled.
Reaching out, he took hold of Sophie's legs before pulling her closer to him. Wrapping his arms around her body, he urged her into a warm embrace wanting her to feel nothing but reassurance from him.
"You come first, so if things start to get too much, I'll find another trainer. For now though, you really need to trust me."
Keeping her eyes focused on Aaron, Sophie wasn't saying a thing as she was desperately debating in her mind what the right thing to do was. She loved and trusted him but she feared fighting caused him to be oblivious to everything around him.
