Jess:
"Jack." Jess immediately called out the moment Jack went to pull open his bedroom door once again. Turning back around, he looked straight at her with a questionable expression across his face.
"Yeah?"
There were so many thoughts running through her mind in this moment and she had been so desperately trying to force each one away. She wanted to be able to stand her ground with him but she seemed to lose all control.
"Um... maybe I will stay over."
Jack looked back at her in shock yet it didn't take long for a smug grin to spread across his lips.
"What changed your mind?"
"I...um..."
"You... um..." He teased as he took the few necessary steps so they were standing toe to toe.
"It just saves Aaron driving me." She replied yet knew that Jack didn't believe that was the only reason.
Jess wanted to stay, there was no hiding that. She had wanted to be stronger and be able to say no but the kiss had fogged her mind and she was slowly falling under his charm.
"Alright then." He nodded, casually going along with her story. "You can stay... as long as I don't have to take the sofa this time. It's a double bed."
Taking a moment to think it through, Jess then gave in.
"Okay... deal." She replied and didn't even recognise her own voice as she spoke. This was so unlike Jess but the words just fell from her lips due to the insane way Jack made her feel.
...
As they both lay in Jack's bed a little while later, neither of them saying a word, Jess just stared up at the ceiling. Every time she went to say something, she stopped herself and instead just remained silent. She could tell he was preventing himself from getting too close, he was trying to show his respect yet it was just killing her. This whole moment felt so different from the night he had stayed at hers and that was because he had held no reserves at the time.
"Babe." Jack finally broke the silence as he turned to look at her. The gap between them had become a tiny bit smaller and it relieved some of the desperation running through her. "I want you to know, I'm honestly not messing you around."
Turning onto her own side, Jess then caught Jack's gaze as she took note of the genuine expression across his face.
"I like you, a lot. I know you've probably heard so much shit about me but not all of it is true."
"I know." Jess whispered before they both fell silent once again. "I feel the same way..."
Smiling, Jack then held out his hand. "Come here." He said before urging her into him.
Following his guidance, she didn't waste anytime in soaking up this moment as it had been what she been craving since getting into this bed. As her body was wrapped into his arms, she let her head rest comfortably on his warm chest. Her eyes slowly closed before she felt his hand scale down her face, guiding it to look up at him.
"You are beautiful." He mumbled under his breath and Jess' body filled with those recognisable butterflies that made her fall weak at his touch.
Lifting her head as a sign of approval of what he was clearly desperate to do, Jack dropped his own as his lips pressed gently to her nose. Closing her eyes, Jess felt his soft lips trail down until they met her lips and as he kissed her, she didn't waste anytime in kissing him back and feeling every inch of the emotions pounding through her body.
