Sophie / Juliet

It was the morning after Juliet had claimed to be at her sleepover with Bella when actually she had been at Aaron's fight. As she walked in the front door with her night bag slung over her shoulder, the house was weirdly silent. She could usually hear Sophie's music playing loudly as she fired through uni work or at least the sound of voices but she heard nothing.

"Soph?" She called as she began making her way down the hall and it wasn't until she reached the living room that she finally caught sight of her.

Sophie was sat on the sofa, with earphones in as she tapped away on her laptop. She was so focused on the screen in front of her that she hadn't even noticed Juliet come in at first.

"Shit, you scared me." She placed a hand to her chest as she looked up at her.

"Sorry, I did shout."

"Couldn't hear you." Sophie replied as she pointed towards the earphones before pulling them out.

There was a strange vibe in the room and that strange vibe usually occurred after one of Sophie and Aaron's many arguments. However, with no sign of Aaron, it was difficult to know why things seemed so tense.

"Are you okay?" Juliet asked cautiously as she took a seat down beside her.

"Yeah. Did you have a good time at Bella's?"

The conversation would seem normal to most but Juliet instantly knew that something was wrong. She could sense something in Sophie that wasn't good yet she just wasn't sure quite what it was yet.

"Yeah, it was good. We just chilled and watched movies." Juliet responded and she already hated herself for lying.

While she was telling Sophie she had been innocently sat in Bella's bedroom watching chick flicks, she had instead been out watching Aaron's fight before heading back to some guy's house. It was so far from innocent.

"Yeah? What movies did you watch?"

"Er... a lot. All the usual girly ones." Juliet replied with a smile as he sister continued to hold her gaze.

"Nothing too violent then?" Sophie questioned with a smile on her face that looked so far from genuine.

"No, why?"

Juliet was frowning back at her at this point, as everything about this situation was weird. She didn't know why her sister was acting like this but she didn't like it.

"Oh right because last time I checked, watching Aaron punch someone countless of times definitely classes as violence." Sophie bit and it was in that moment that Juliet's heart sunk.

She felt completely sick as she watched the frustration build over Sophie's face. She had known and Juliet had just sat here and still lied to her face.

She didn't know if she should be mad at Aaron for telling Sophie or if she should have expected it anyway. However, one thing Juliet was sure of, was that she wanted to be anywhere but here right now, as she didn't know how she was going to explain herself.

"I'm sorry Soph..." She began, as that was the easiest thing to say.

"Are you really? Because sorry means nothing when you lie to someone."

"I just knew you wouldn't like it."

"So you lied to me?"

Nodding her head, Juliet felt the mixed emotions rushing inside of her. She did feel guilty for lying to her sister yet at the same time she was angry that she had to do it. She didn't understand why Sophie not liking the fights meant she couldn't enjoy them either. It didn't make sense or seem in the slight bit fair.
