Jess
When Jack had offered to get them both a drink, Jess had not expected him to be gone for the amount of time he was. She had been sat at this table on her own for about 40 minutes now, and was beginning to wonder what had happened to him. She understood that he was likely stuck in a queue due to the crowds however, she didn't expect it to take this long.
It was when the lights became dimmed and a loud voice was heard over the speaker that the crowds began to disperse away from the bar. Everyone was frantically heading over to the ring where the fight was about to begin and Jack's figure finally became noticeable.
However, as she had guessed, he wasn't stood in line waiting to be served and instead he was stood with a female, clearly engrossed in conversation. Jess' stomach did a number of turns, as she suddenly felt sick at the sight of it. She couldn't even describe the emotion she was feeling right now but it wasn't a good one.
She had been sat here patiently waiting on his return while he had found someone else to give his time to. He didn't even looked fazed that he had been gone for 40 minutes when he should have been sat here with her.
Even though there was now so much commotion going on in the centre of the room, Jess couldn't bring her eyes to drift away from Jack and this girl. She was desperately trying to judge their interaction to see if she could figure out how well they knew one another.
Every previous thought she had experienced of being 'just another girl' was doubling back again as he casually leaned up against the bar and chatted away. This girl was full of smiles and as Jess' eyes drifted around that area a bit more, she could see the many female eyes staring there way...just as they had done with her.
Jess no longer wanted to be here. She couldn't sit here and just be some other girl that he could so easily forget about the moment he bumped into another. She was never going to be the second best to any guy in this situation, it wasn't okay.
Pulling out her phone, she began tapping out a text to Sophie, as she knew that she would be home and would hope she would come and save her. However, just as she was focused on the screen and the words she was writing, a figure approached her table and took a seat.
To begin with, Jess didn't want to look up as she wouldn't be sure how to approach a stranger that she hadn't welcomed to her table however, it was a matter of seconds until she realised it was Jack.
"The fight is up that way babe." He teased as he urged his head in the direction where Aaron and Evan had now made it into the ring.
Jess didn't say anything for a moment as she just looked back at him in shock. He didn't even seem fazed at the fact that he had just left her for those full 40 minutes.
"Do you want to get closer?"
"No thanks." Jess shook her head, as she finally felt like her voice needed to be heard. "But go ahead."
"No, it's cool. We can sit back here. I got you a drink." Jack slid the glass closer to her and Jess just looked at it.
Usually she was someone who was very big on manners. She hated when people didn't use their simple 'please' and 'thank yous' yet tonight, she was being one of those people. She didn't feel like acting like nothing had just happened and she hoped Jack would realise what he had just done.
"What's put you in a shitty mood?" He went onto ask, still desperately trying to get through to her.
"Are you actually serious?" Jess couldn't help but laugh at the fact that he had to ask.
Jack just nodded his head.
"You were gone for nearly an hour, Jack! I've been sitting here like an idiot."
