"Fancy seeing you here." Matt teased as he took a seat beside Juliet in the waiting room.

Juliet had been sat awaiting her dreaded counselling appointment while lost in her own misted mind. At 9am every week she was made to attend 30 minutes of what she classed as pointless conversation with a woman that just come across incredibly nosy. Although they were always something she would rather avoid, she knew that by doing that she would also miss her weekly run ins with Matt Russle.

"What a surprise!" Juliet played along however, her lack of enthusiasm in comparison was picked up on very quickly.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing."

"Bullshit!" Matt sang while shifting himself even closer to her until their arms were touching.

There was no way he was going to let this go until he had some kind of idea of what was going on in her mind. He knew this was a whole lot more than just a lack of motivation to sit through a 30 minute appointment and he felt the need to figure it out.

"Tell me what's wrong or I will just keep guessing until I get it right."

Glimpsing over at Matt, Juliet was trying to hide her smile. Although it was slightly annoying, she couldn't help but appreciate his determination a little. Whereas her counsellor's persistence just felt like complete annoyance, coming from Matt seemed incredibly sweet.

"Is it to do with my brother? Because if it is, I'm so sorry about that... I did speak to him after you left and-"

Juliet very quickly cut Matt off when she noticed the hint of guilt in his voice.

"It's not your brother." She shook her head. "It's how my sister and her boyfriend reacted to me meeting your brother."

"Oh shit..." Matt trailed off, clearly not quite expecting that answer.

He didn't know a whole lot about Sophie but from what Kieran had told him, she had always been incredibly close to Andrew. Therefore, Matt didn't quite understand why she would react negatively to Juliet's meeting with Kieran.

"Were they mad about it?"

"So mad and I don't understand why!" Juliet exasperated while reliving the whole conversation in her mind once again.

She couldn't believe the way both Sophie and Aaron had reacted; it was completely over the top. They were acting as though Kieran was someone to fear when that was far from the reality.

"They are being so controlling over the whole thing and I have had enough."

"So they didn't want you to meet them?" Matt tried to clarify and he could physically feel the change in atmosphere. Juliet was getting worked up the more she thought about it.

"No not without their consent! It's driving me crazy. I love my sister but I wish she and Aaron would just back off and let me breathe. They have their own lives to worry about." Juliet was on the verge to yelling as she felt like it was finally a relief to get this all out.

"I'm guessing in their minds they were just look out for you?" Matt suggested and although this was his way of helping, it was most definitely the wrong time to be the mediator here. Juliet felt like she needed someone on her side.

"I don't care if they think that's what they were doing! They're not my parents. I can look out for myself."

There was silence for a moment while Juliet caught her breath and Matt wasn't quite sure what to input next. He could see how worked up Juliet was getting and knew that nothing he would say was going to make her feel better.
