Juliet

When Juliet realised that Sophie wasn't coming home anytime tonight, she didn't allow it to anger her and instead just headed out herself.

Bella had invited her over and she had purposely said no for her sister's sake however, it was clear they were not on the same page. Therefore, Juliet felt as though it was only fair for her to be just as selfish and do what she wanted for the night too.

"I'm so happy you changed your mind!" Bella clapped her hands as she shut her bedroom door. "We just need to figure out where he is."

Bella had suggested that they find out where Brad's brother was fighting tonight and then head straight there. She seemed to think that if Juliet faced him, he would have to speak and stop acting so weird. However, they weren't both as enthusiastic about the idea and Juliet was wishing she hadn't shown up.

"Check Facebook."

"I'm beginning to regret this idea, Bella." Juliet replied as she pulled out her phone and opened up her Facebook.

"It's going to be fine. I'm with you." Her best friend reached out and nudged her shoulder.

Although that may be the case and could have been enough persuasion for Juliet to go, something else suddenly caused that to all come crashing down. Glaring down at her phone screen, Juliet's stomach did a number of different turns as she read the screen in front of her. She felt physically sick as the words played over in her mind on repeat and her hands began to shake.

"What's wrong?!" Bella had instantly caught on with the panicked expression as she peered over her shoulder.

There was a message on Juliet's screen, which had come from a girl called Layla at their school. She was someone that Juliet didn't really speak to much but if they were ever sat next to one another in class they would be happy enough to force polite conversation.

Her message had come as surprise considering it was the first she had ever interacting with Juliet outside of school however, it was the content that made it much worse.

Hey! did you really sleep with Brad or is it all lies? Because I didn't think you were that sort of girl, just wanted to make sure xx

Juliet couldn't even put into words how she was feeling in this precise moment for many different reasons. She had been worried that gossip would escape from that night after the fight however, this had not been what she expected. She had been worried that people would be laughing at the fact she had left that party as soon as the idea was even suggested rather than it being completely twisted.

Brad had taken her by surprise when she realised just how forward he was and she had immediately made an excuse before completely disappearing from the party. Looking back now, she was angry at herself for not being honest and just saying no but instead feeling the need to make up some pointless story. She had every single right to say no and shouldn't have felt like she would be judged for it but with the sick and twisted society they lived in today, it had forced her to act in alternative ways that didn't respect herself.

While Juliet had known Brad probably would have guessed her disappearance was due to his suggestion, she hadn't expected him to twist the whole thing. If anything, she was worried he would be telling everyone what truly happened and taken the mick out of her for it. However, instead it seemed as though he was having much more fun spreading rumours that the whole thing had happened, all for the sake of his ego.

No, I didn't. Who did you hear that from?

Was Juliet's sharp response back as she instantly felt full of anger and Layla replied instantly.
