Walking into the old building, Sophie felt a chill down her spine as she looked around at the familiarity of this place. It wasn't exactly the same but it was similar and that was enough to bring all memories of the past back. She had been too young to fully understand anything about what went on in a place like this however, she had seen enough with her own eyes to always fear everything about it.
Looking to the ring, stood proudly in the centre, her eyes dazed as she began to recall the vivid image of him taking swing after swing while also embracing the impact in return. She recalled him taking a hit he was clearly so proud of before turning to look at her with a cheeky and reassuring grin while she began jumping up and down and clapping her small hands.
She was innocent to the danger that surrounded his life, completely unaware of the harsh reality that occurred behind the scenes. How was she ever to know? She was young, still had so much to learn, and she was always protected from the worst while only being shown the best.
"Sophie! You actually came." Max literally jumped out on her, causing her heart to feel like it had physically stopped from the shock.
After their long bicker earlier, Sophie had given in and decided to surprise Aaron. This was the first fight of his she had ever been to due to her dislike for the 'sport' however, she felt like it was about time she made an effort. Their relationship was struggling and she would do anything to prevent from watching it crash and burn.
"Shit. You scared me." She looked across as the excitable being stood before her, already trying to guide her over to where they were all standing.
Her whole body felt tense and ridged however, Sophie persisted to follow him anyway until they reached that familiar group of Aaron's friends, including Jack himself. As they all began approaching her to celebrate her showing up here for the first time, she could feel her body repelling every single part of this. She regretted even coming and wanted to turn around and escape. However, she knew she couldn't do that. She had promised herself that she would do this one thing for Aaron and she wasn't prepared to go back on her word.
"He'll be in the ring in a minute." Jack mumbled in her ear as Sophie then looked across at him with a forced smile. "You'll be impressed once you've seen him fight."
Nodding her head, Sophie took in the scene around her as she noticed how surrounded they were by drunk individuals. They were front row by the ring, with a sea of people behind and around them, with most holding glasses or bottles in their hands. The scent of alcohol was magnified, consuming her senses and instantly making her feel sick.
"Do you want a drink?" Max then asked to which she reacted by instantly refusing. She couldn't think of anything worse right now and instead just wanted to focus on the fight ahead.
There were about 5 minutes after that while everyone began to get riled up as someone walked onto the stage to prep them all. Sophie was stood among the guys with her eyes on the ring yet her mind continued to drift to memories she didn't want to recall.
"Are you ready for him?" The voice boomed through the speakers. "The unbeatable... the incredible..." He continued as Sophie took a deep breath and had her eyes focused, constantly on the search for him. "...Aaron Harris!"
As his name was shouted, the crowds at the other side of the ring began to disperse as a being made their way through. Aaron's face became clear and Sophie could see the pure concentration and focus consuming him. He had been riled up ready for the fight and was paying no attention to anything around him but that.
As he made his way into the ring, Sophie's heart was literally pounding against her chest and she felt physically sick. Everything inside of her was telling her to leave and get out of there. Every inch of her body was screaming at her to escape but she remained.
