Pain

Pain. It had been more than five years since Tori had given her life to save Hato from getting hit by the delivery truck and the pain in his heart never went away. Tori had been his rock she was the one that would always cheer him up from anything even when their mother would beat them. The funeral for Tori was short and only a hand full of people went to actually see her be buried none of which that where mother or dead beat father. Hato had cried his eyes out and he still did if he remembered all of the fun times he had with his big sister and the games they would play to ignore the world around them. Pain was something that he had known his whole life seeing his mother beat Tori and even the men that she would often bring until Tori wasn't able to move or even see with her eyes bruised and shut closed. Tori would always take the blame for anything Hato had done and he suspected that it was because she thought it was rightful duty as the oldest sibling. There where times where Hato would imagine a parallel universe where he was the oldest child and she was the youngest. He would think about how he would be able to handle the things his mother would do to Tori and the weight on her shoulders. Maybe he was selfish because whenever he thought of Tori's sacrifice and how she pushed him away from the danger of getting hit and killed he would think about. If he was in the same position as Tori would he have pushed her away from danger? Would he have the mentality to push her away knowing that he'd probably die? No. Deep in his heart Hato knew that he wasn't as loving as his Tori he didn't have a gentle heart like her or the strong sense of independence she had to carry the world on her shoulders.

Was there such a place as heaven or hell? As he floated in pitch black Hato couldn't help but wonder if such a place as heaven existed for the souls of the damned like him and maybe his older sister Tori. The sun or the moon never rose or descended it felt like days where it possibly could have been weeks, months or even years before it finally came for him. There was a light and he opened his eyes for the first time since forever maybe and he saw an earthly being someone so pure that he wanted to cry. Was there such a thing as Angels? Maybe the one he was looking at was an angel that was sent down to grab him from the darkness that he thrived in and actually enjoyed. "Hato." The being said and it sounded like the sounds of church bells like the ones that rang during Tori's burial "My dear child," it said placing a hand on his head and he couldn't help but shed a few tears. It felt like that of a loving mothers touch something that he had craved as a child and his older sister provided as much as possible until she had passed. "Pain has always been in your life." The being whispered and Hato nodded weakly crying like a child "Your pain can be power," it said and he looked up seeing the being had looked down at him with pure love. Just like...just like. "Are you Tori?" He questioned and the being laughed lightly and he knew that this person was nothing of Tori "Your beloved sister has moved on to another world," the being said making Hato frown. Where was Tori? Could he not be with his sister like he thought they would once he had passed to the next world? Maybe she was too good for him because of how she sacrificed herself to save him from death by a damn delivery truck.

"Where is she can I go to her?" Hato questioned and looked up at the being who smiled slightly "I can place you there but you must help me with my goal," the being said making Hato nod

"Where is she can I go to her?" Hato questioned and looked up at the being who smiled slightly "I can place you there but you must help me with my goal," the being said making Hato nod. "I will help you in whatever you need." Hato said looking at the being "Good my child," the being said patting Hato's head like Tori used to do when she was just happy. "You're to eat all of the tailed beasts tails and once that is over you shall meet your beloved sister." The being said and Hato looked a bit confused "Eat tailed beasts," he questioned and the being nodded seeing how confused the boy looked. "Yes we must let Shiroshika know about our pain." The being stated and looked at Hato "By taking the tailed beasts away from Shiroshika you can have Tori," the being said and Hato seemed to contemplate. If he ate the tailed beasts then his big sister would be with him. But at the same time having to kill them to make Shiroshika sad seemed evil something no one of pure heart would ever do. The thought of being with his big sister quickly ran back into his head how she used to make him happy and protect him from everything bad flooding through his mind. 'If I just did this small job then I can be with Tori.' Hato thought and looked up at the being that was waiting for his answer and seemed to know what it was as the figure gave him a crooked smile.

"I will help you with your goal."
