Chapter 23| Passions

Yana's POV

Jericho woke me up so we could start getting ready before Zafar picked us up. We both made sure that we had our things before we left to go there, "Just a heads up there are other uni students as well but they are teaching different classes, so before you guys start teaching we'll have a little get together," we drove further more into the country until we see this school with students in uniform running around during their break time.

As weren't able to get a close view as we had to go to the office where the staff room was to meet with the other student teachers. There were another 6 students in total of all of us together is 8. I guess this is a rare thing, we all introduced ourselves and had a brief conversation before heading off with the teacher who is in charge of the class. We both saw the students line up before heading into the class most of them were surprised that they have someone from another country.

So it was acceptable to see some stares from many students. It was adorable, "Okay, class we have two student teachers who will be teaching you english and math for the next two weeks," announced the teacher.

"So this is Miss Choi," I smiled and said, "Hello everybody," while I waved at them. They were so cute when they waved back smiling as they seemed excited. "And this is Mr Ramos," he said, 'Hello' and smiled to everybody.

"Okay I will leave you to it," the teacher stepped aside and stood at the back of the classroom as she needed to observe us to send a report back to the university. "Hello everyone, like what your teacher said, we will be your teachers for the next two weeks."

"If you guys have any questions, feel free to ask us," said Jericho. Since we weren't able to set up the classroom before hand, we had to quickly set the posters that we made onto the wall for them to enjoy the lesson more. Also thanks to Zafar we were able to get it laminated so it will last longer. Also for future use for them, we are teaching a year 2 class so it was easy for us to teach them basic english and basic math to get them started. We went over the alphabet, easy times tables by playing games.

It makes me happy seeing the students learn while having fun, as it will make the student learn better as they have good memories added to it.

Jericho's POV

We both had fun teaching the students, seeing Yana teach was wonderful as she can be one of the teachers everyone loves as she is a easy person to talk to and connect while she is organised and good with teaching.

Even though we are both aiming for secondary educational teaching starting at a primary level would be just fine as we would progress into high school classes later. Who knows if we end up in the same school, since I know a few teachers who were in the same high school and now in the same workplace. It's cool how they have stuck with each other for many, many years.

When the students have their break again, we both prepared the classroom for their original teacher as it is our turn to observe how a qualified teacher would teach. We both know that every teacher have their own styles but we need to know how to control a class that goes out of control for whatever reason.
