Mama Choi's POV
"Jagiya, did you get the cake ready?" I ask him since he was out of bed first. "I'm going to get it ready now," he said as he left the room. We both feel really guilty for Yana since we are always at work. "I hope Yana will like this?" I said as I looked at the present. I prepare the flowers, jagiya got for Yana a few minutes ago. "Got the cake," he came back in with the candles stuck on it and a lighter in his hands. I took out the presents and the helium balloons from the walk-in wardrobe. "Ready," I said. We took the things and checked if Yana is still sleeping.
Yana was asleep soundly on her bed her book laid out. I quietly took the book and put the bookmark inside so she can read it again, after that I placed it on her bedside table. I placed the balloons on the ground next to her bed while putting the presents right next to her. As I wait for Jagiya, to light the candles I got the flowers ready. I signalled '1,2,3' before singing,
"Happy Birthday to you~
Happy Birthday to you~~
Happy Birthday dear Yana~~~
Happy Birthday too you~~~~" she was finally awake.Yana rubbed her eyes as she woke up, "Thank you, Omma and Appa," she stood up and gave us a hug. "Make a wish," said Jagiya. As she closed her eyes and put her hands together we wait until she blew the cake. "Yayy!!" We all cheered. "Let's take a photo first," I said as I want to capture this fine moment of us. I took out the selfie stick, we all sat on the bed with the cake, flowers, balloon and presents and took a photo, "Can you send the photo to me?" Said Yana. "Sure," I said. "And me," Jagiya said while eating some cream from the cake.
"Hey, let's go downstairs and cut it properly," I said as we all went together. We also prepared a breakfast feast for her, "Omma, you didn't have to do this," she said. "It has to be done. We were both away from home from a long time and you have been independent while we are at work," she said while Appa is getting the plates, forks and knife. "We're proud of you for what you have done, while we are usually away," said Appa. "Let's cut the cake," said Omma. We gathered around Yana as she make the first slice, "Yayy!" Jagiya and I said. "Give it to me," said Jagiya holding out his plate like a child.
"It's her birthday, let her have it," I said. "Okay then," he pouts. "We'll share slice," said Yana. "Yayy!!" Jagiya cheers. We all shared the cake and sat down for breakfast, once we have finished we all helped each other clean up before we went to her room to open her presents.
Yana's POV
It was the first time in forever where we had a family activity like this. So I was very happy, I was not expecting presents because being with them is more than enough. As we went to the room, I sat on the bed and opened the gifts. It was a book of the 'Diary of Anne Frank' I've always wanted the book but I haven't got the time to get it or the money. You may ask why I don't have the money, yes I have allowance but I would rather save something for a good quality product.
Also I would prefer hard cover books, so it will last longer but I don't mind the regular ones. "Woah thank omma, appa" I got up hug them. "I know you've been wanting to buy this," said Appa. "Thank you," I said. "C'mon open the other one," said Omma handing me the other gift. I opened it and it was a leather jacket and the thick heeled boot I wanted. "Omma you didn't have to," I said. "You, deserve it," said Appa and we all gathered into a group hug. "I love you," I said. "We love you too," Omma and Appa said in unison.
