Yana's POV

"Okay, class the do now is on the board, it want to see you try and attempt it than do nothing," I walk around the classroom and see if any students need help.

It's been three years nearly four since I've started teaching at Sydney High. It's a good school and I was lucky enough to have a class who is willing to learn. Despite they found me a bit strict coming from other students since I make them do class work. Like c'mon they at school that is the purpose, if you're at school make sure you get something out of it.

For the last term we are learning about War so Jericho and I ended up doing extra some background research about the poets who we're going to teach about. Today we are learning about Jessie Pope and Denise Levertov. Honestly I really hate Jessie Pope for being a pro war poet encouraging people to join the war as it is like a game. As she doesn't have experience at all so she will go on and on about saying, 'Hey it's alright if you come back injured than stay at home being a little bitch.' Of course she didn't say that but that is close enough to what she actually meant in her poem.

As for Denise Levertov she has experience with being a nurse in the war, and writes poetry about it. Thus making her anti war, through many traumatising experiences.

"So you guys know what is pro war and anti war, with your do now you have to identify which poem is pro or anti judging from on stanza."

I asked different students and they all knew the answers. Yes; I don't need to go over it again. "So today we will learn about Jessie Pope and Denise Levertov," I changed the slide show to the poets so they could copy the background information.

"Miss Choi, what's your opinion about them?" A student asked. "Well Jessie Pope seems like a bitch to me and Denise Levertov is someone who writes poetry by heart," with us young teachers, students get to connect more with them. So when it comes to cursing, we all know that it is something that kept between is showing how one teacher is close with their class.

This usually happens to the senior classes.

"Yeah she is," they read the poem, and agreed with me, "If she knew what they had to go through, I wish to throw a grenade at her," said another student.

"Is she alive?"

"That's so mean," said another on. "Calm down guys, she's dead so I guess you can bad mouth her, but still back on track... Basically she was trying to convince people to join the war and everyone hates her for doing that, since she is delusional for saying that."

We continued to learn about the two poets as they are going to be apart of their upcoming final assessment and exam. "What's our assessment about?" A student asked.

"You guys will get two, one in-class exam and one take home assessment. For your exam it will be 5 questions with different marks about the poems we are learning about and the take home will be an essay about two poem showing the different perspectives of war."
