(Rachel's POV)
It all happened quickly.
The resort called first.
They said that we needed to evacuate the bungalow and head into the resort community hall.
Then the producers of Fear Factor called.
They said that we needed to leave the island now, and that they had booked us all onto one of the only remaining flights out of the island for weeks.
"Why can't we use Ben's plane?"
"It's too dangerous," Justin said, "The planes too small. We need a commercial jet"
"But what about the others?"
"They couldn't get them tickets,"
Chaz, Charice and Ryan had to stay. The producers didn't book them a flight. They couldn't; there was no room.
"But that's awful!"
"They want to stay," Justin promised, "They'll get three more days of vacation and then take Ben's plane back out when the storms over,"
I didn't get a chance to say goodbye to anyone. Justin put me into the car first and then he got in with me. He said he made up with Ryan and Chaz. He said he even gave Charice a hug goodbye. But there wasn't forgiveness all around.
Randy and Ryan say their farewells in front of the taxi. It was a sad scene. Nothing had been resolved and nothing ever would be.
That's the problem with tragedy. It tests friendships. Some friendships just can't survive the damage because the foundation of that friendship was never strong enough to begin with.
"Let's go!"
"Mr. Chow has a new handsignal for aeroplane!"
I stared out of the taxis back window and watched the bungalow disappear into the night.
I didn't want to leave the island. It had taken and given me so much.
I felt like I was leaving as a completely different person, and maybe I was.
I felt older now. I felt more mature. And I felt wiser.
Bora Bora would always be special to me.
"We have to fly coach!"
"Yeah" Blaine passed out the tickets, "There is no first class"
"I have never flown coach before"
"You're a snob Ben,"
"Shut up Randy. I doubt you or Rachel have ever flown coach"
"We have,"
"Your dads a doctor!"
"A doctor who hates class systems"
"Bullshit"
"He does - he never lets me fly first class,"
"It's true," Justin said, "Randy's dad only spoils Rachel"
"That's not true!"
"Rachel, you give the name 'Daddy's girl' a whole new meaning"
"Shut up Randy!!"
"When you were little and dad went to work, you would sit on the front door step and cry"
"That happened one time!"
"No, it happened everyday. And you refused to move. If I didn't drag you inside the house you would sit there all day and cry"
