Chapter 34 ~ In The Black

(Rachel's POV)

"Justin - don't eat anything he gives you - he's working with Tanner! Bonnie didn't meddle with those brownies last time. Blaine did! And they weren't meant for me. They were meant for you!"

Blaine's eyes closed in on me as he wondered how i knew this.

"I heard you and Tanner talking!" I shook, "I heard you tell him that you were going to try and do the same thing again tonight! It's all part of a bigger plan isn't it? You want something else!"

I was furious.

"Justin... shes lying to you"

"I'm not lying!"

"Rachel - Rachel and Randy were in on it"

"What? No we were not!"

Why would i drug myself?

Justin showed no reaction at all, he just stood there tense and glaring. Blaine was afraid of him.

"She's a Green," he edged backwards, "Do you trust Green's? Think about what they have they done to you in the past..."

"Justin... I'm not lying!"

He didn't look at me but he spoke finally, "Maddy... Harry... stand behind me"

They followed Justin's instructions, falling through a part in the clothes rack and stumbling back to where I stood.

Then three things happened at one. Justin lunged forward slamming Blaine to the floor.

"YOU THINK YOU CAN POISON ME!"

The room went black making me wonder if Blaine had switched off the lights.

"Look!" Maddy shrieked and turned me towards the window, "The street lamps are off too!!!!"

And then we heard an alarm ringing through the entire theatre calling:

Attention, Attention, Attention: There is a city blackout. The show is cancelled. Please cautiously exit the backstage arena.

"GET OFF OF ME!"

"YOU TRY TO BLAME MY FRIENDS? YOU SON OF A BITCH!"

"RANDY ISN'T YOUR FRIEND - HE'S PLAYING YOU"

I heard Blaine grunt as Justin sent a blow to his face.

"YOU PATHETIC - PIECE - OF NOTHING! YOU THINK I TRUST YOU? YOU TRY TO TURN ME ON MY FRIENDS?"

"Maddy!!! - Rachel, come on!!!!"

Harry took our hands and led us around the brawl and out of the room, but as we exited through the door Justin and Blaine rolled into the foyer with us, bringing the fight into the hallway.

"Is this about the orphans!!!" Maddy screamed, "Is it? Harry is this about the orphans!!!!"

Security guards' had flashlights and were calling for all contestants and staff to follow them. The light the torches gave off was minimal but they better then nothing.

"Harry - take Maddy and go!" I screamed over, "Go!"

The hallway had become mass chaos.

"Move this way! Everyone follow the torches!"
