(Randy's POV)
Rachel was expelled from Pre School. Although this fact was no longer shocking top people back then it was strange. Rachel was a quiet toddler. She didn't cause much trouble and for the most part she did what she was told. But Rachel was expelled and I learnt just how influential my actions were to her.
I was a handful in Pre School. I blocked off the slide from others and in snack time I covered Justin's hair in pudding. I didn't like rules and I didn't like the other children. My mom said that the biggest problem was that the other children were afraid of me and they didn't stand up to me.
But Jeremy Kinsky stood up to me.
During one reading time activity Jeremy threw three teddy bears at me . I retaliated by pushing him and we were both sent off to time-outs.
But it didn't end there.
Rachel bit Jeremy Kinsky's arm so hard that his wound bled. Not only was she expelled on the spot but our family received a lifetime ban from the Honey Bear cottage pre-school.
When my mother asked Rachel why she had bit Jeremy she simply said, "Randy didn't like him"
I never told Rachel that I didn't like Jeremy. At age three she read my dislike from my body language. That's what happens when you share blood. You see things and react to them without thinking.
Rachel and I both had Green blood. When it came down to sibling loyalty you only had to know one thing; Rachel turned on Justin to support me. We were close. She would cut off half of her heart to side with me.
If I showed hesitations or ill will towards Ryan Buter then Rachel would do the same thing. She would respond negatively towards him without wanting to or meaning to. I had to put on a happy face. I had to make believe that the guy didn't bother me.
"When Ryan gets here," Quinn began, "How are you going to react?"
"Um - I'll say hi?"
"Take the high road?"
"It's not like that. Ryan's a good guy - he won't start anything"
"But he hurt you?"
"He didn't mean to - well - he did but..."
"But he didn't mean for it to hurt as much as it did..."
"Yeah" I sighed, "Exactly - can you pass me that pen? This ones dry"
Quinn handed me another marker. The Mash Up had finally seen sense and we were now allowed to go up to our dressing rooms early on Friday nights and skip the limousine ride. We still had to walk the carpet but we had plenty of time to sign posters in our dressing rooms beforehand.
"Randy?" a stagehand stuck her head in the door; "You have a Make a Wish visit in twenty minutes"
"Yeah, that's all good"
Make a Wish visits were a common pre-show ritual. We called them 'Make a Wish visits' but not all of the kids were from the Mask a Wish foundation. Some were disabled and some had survived horrible ordeals. The visits were surprisingly happy. Some of these kids were sick but they were hopeful. They made you feel refreshed. Their fight for life was contagious. I never said no to the visits.
"You have six kids to see tonight - so we have grouped the visit"
"Six?"
"Yes"
Six was quite a large number. Normally we only took groups of three.
"Okay that's fine"
"People ask for you and Justin quite a lot," Quinn told me, "You are both very popular"
