8 / yet so unaware of it

The hospital doors open and I walk in with Luke. A smile is on his face as he takes my hand and looks at my bump.
I smile back and squeezed his hand as we walk towards the other end of the building. Doctors and nurses pass by and give us warm smiles as they spot my baby bump. Not long now. I want to be the mother that I always dreamed of having. My mother is amazing and I wouldn't change her for anyone else. There's just that one thing I would've wanted to change about her. But I'm a mother now and I want to give and show her how supportive I'm be of her no matter how she turns out. Whether she likes boys, girls or both. It's fine with me. I don't want her to feel like she's under control. I hate that feeling.

Along our way to the other side of the hospital, we pass the ICU. My eyes spot Jade's room and I smile, "We can check on her later." Luke says. I place my hand over my bump and smiled, "I'd love that." I answer, "I'm sure Bella would love that too." He smiles and we continue to walk over. When we get there I take a seat by the chairs and took a breather. Luke heads to the nurses desk and tells the nurse about my ultrasound. He walks back and takes a seat beside, interwining his hand with mine, "I'm happy for you. Have I told you that yet?" he says.

"You've told me a few times before but I wouldn't mind hearing it again and again if I have to." I chuckle. He smiles and we wait patiently for my doctor to take us inside for the ultrasound.

"Do you think she'll wake up soon?"

Luke sighs and gives me the warmest of smiles, "I can't say for sure princess. But she will. Just hold on a little longer. Strong. That's how she wants you. And if she knew about Bella I'm sure she'd want you to be strong for her too. I'm always going to be here for you. No matter what happens. The day she wakes up, the day you give birth, the day you celebrate fifty years together. I'm always gonna be beside you. I'm here for you. I've been with you all my life - through countless hardships and trials. Why would I ever leave you now? I love you and with Jade still being coma and you being pregnant... there's no way I can leave you alone now. I know I shouldn't be setting the mood into some depressing drama," he chuckles. "But I just want you to keep that in mind, Perrie. Dealing with all this ... you need someone to be along side you. Yes, I have my own life, yes I have my own love life but your still one of my main priorities. Sel knows that as well as you do. I can't predict when Jade will be awake again but I know I'll be here to treat you like my wife. To protect you and keep you safe from any fucking danger that tries to get in your way. You're my best friend and if I'm responsible for losing you I swear to god I will kill myself." he says. Tears well in my eyes as well as his. I bit my lip and words flood my mind. I don't deserve him. But I do and I have him.

I wipe the corner of my eyes and smiled at him, "Thanks for making me cry." I laugh. He chuckles and presses a kiss on my hand, "That wasn't my intention but I had to say that. I don't know what my future holds but if I say it now it'll be better than later. We may never now what will happen. I know this sounds crazy but what if I ... move in with you?" he asks suddenly. My jaw drops. He said what now? "Huh? What about Selena? Luke, I know you're being the husband and father you always wanted to be but I'm not Selena," I laugh."You have your own life. Go home to her and be the boyfriend you are." I explain. He smiles softly, "I'm still the boyfriend I am," he chuckles. "But she got a promotion back in London for the next few weeks. So I'll be all alone. And since Jade's in a coma and you're baking a baby in there I'm gonna be with you. Selena and I already had the talk. She knows how important you are to me and I'm lucky that she's understandable. She's gonna be a busy bee and even if I move back with her there will be no point. Selena's gonna be at one place to another. So she insisted I stay here in the mean time. And I plan to move into your home, be a good hubby for rent, a lovable father, a hardworking lad and of course a incredible best friend. You alone in a large house won't help you Edwards. You can't say no. I mean with a bump like that do you actually think you'll be able to get out of bed without my help?

"Hemmo, you really are incredible. So yes you can move in. But one thing." I say. A large smile grows on his face, "What?" he asks. "Can we please have something other than pancakes for breakfast from now on?" I laugh. "We sure can." he says.

2 months later

"Fuck I'm hungry." I groan as I pull the blanket up towards the bottom of my chin. Luke laughs and shakes his head. "Perrie, you just ate ice cream with chocolate syrup and pretzels. You said you wanted Bella to be healthy" he says. I roll my eyes. "I haven't even fucking said what I wanted to eat." He scratches the back of his blonde hair and raises a brow, "What do you want?" he asks me. I smile politely and pointed to the fridge, "Carrot sticks."

"Would you like some water with that?" he asks as he stands up from the couch and walks off to the kitchen. "Yes, that  would be lovely Lucas." I smile. I hear him sigh, "Don't call me that." I laugh, "I'm just joking. Thank you Lukey."

"Welcome," he says as he comes back with a glass of water and a bag of carrot sticks. "So," he adds. "What do you wanna watch next?" "The next episode of Suite Life on Deck. Does it look like I wanna change what we're watching?"
He laughs and shakes his head.
