The (now fixed) telephone rang on my (fixed) desk, and answered it, having a hunch about who would be on the other side of the call.

"The Supreme Commander's office, how may I help you?" I asked in my best assistant voice. A feminine voice answered me.

"The order for His Supremeness has arrived," Minakshi said nervously. "And the other thing too."

My spirits lifted at the mention of the other thing. Me and Minakshi had secretly been keeping in touch with each other, whenever she came to deliver the Supreme Special Breakfast. Apparently, Minakshi was an expert in all things gossip, so I had asked her for a little help.

"Hey,Khloe," Minakshi said, and held out a takeout package with the food. It smelled really good, so good that I almost thought that there was ambrosia and nectar in it.

"Hey,Mini," I replied, and handed her a piece of paper. "That says everything you need to know about him so far."

She smirked as she held the paper, and then handed me another piece of paper. "And here's everything I could gather about his mysterious past."

I looked at the paper in my hands."How did you manage to get a hold on this?"

She shrugged nonchalantly. "I dunno. I just asked around, got valid answers. Here they are."

I smiled at her, and she smiled back. "I owe you, Mini."

She snorted. "Yeah, you definitely do."

"Owe her what?" A familiar voice said behind Mini. Minakshi whipped around, and I saw that it was Eric.

"Um, you see, I was-we were-" Mini said, fiddling with her hands. Suspicion hung in the air. I could tell that Eric thought that we were up to no good, which we were. Then again, isn't literally almost everyone here up to no good?

Oh great, I thought. This is awkward.

Eric gave Mini a weird look. Not a why the heck are you acting like that look, but something else that I didn't want and care to know about.

"Personal stuff," I said, hoping that the vague lie would be enough to shoo him off. Unfortunately, I was wrong.

"How personal?" He asked, his right eyebrow raised. A million different ideas raced through my head, and I picked the best one.

"Health and hygiene," I replied. "I need her to get me some........supplies, so to say, for anemia, and I don't know where the pharmacy or the supermarket is."

He seemed to get it, because his face turned bright red. "Uh,okay. Just curious. Do not need to know any more." Before I could say anything to him, he scampered off, leaving me and Minakshi.

"Wow," She whispered," I cannot believe that he actually bought that!" A  half-hearted smirk formed on her face.

"Neither can I," I muttered. I waved goodbye to her, and passed through the portal wall.

"That was long," Tritannus said as soon as I came through the other side of the portal wall. "Didn't you go and get my breakfast?"

"Here it is, Sir!" I said, and thrust out the takeout packet for him to take. "The Supreme Special Breakfast, just like always!"

He took it from me, and without a word, walked to his office.

Jeez, no thank you? I thought. I brought out the crumpled piece of paper in my jeans pocket, and read it as I walked back to my desk.
