Pace: Really? You're supposed to get more information and you're going to a party?
Me: Chill. I'm going to find more information at the party. You'd be surprised at how much people will tell you when they're drunk .
Pace: Keep the drinking to a minimum, it'll get in the way of your mission.
Me: Yes dad.
Pace: Also, keep the sarcasm to a minimum. That's a general rule. Anyways, good luck.
Me: Yeah, I'm gonna need it.
I quickly exited the Iris-Messaging app as I heard a knock on the wall. "Are you ready?" Tritannus said from the other side after a moment of hesitation.
"I was ready ten minutes ago," I said in the most bored of tones, playing with my silver bracelet, among others. "But I didn't say anything, because I knew that you would need time to fix your makeup."
"Very funny, Khloe," Tritannus said. I heard the sound of footsteps, and the sound of a door closing. Seconds later, I heard a knock on the door. Rolling my eyes at the unnecessary repetition, I checked myself out in the mirror one last time, ran my fingers through my hair (which I left loose for the first time in a long time) and then opened the door.
Thinking back on it, I wished that I hadn't opened the door so that I didn't need to see the sight that was Tritannus in regular clothes.
His black hair was as messy as usual, but that was about the only thing about his appearance that was familiar. He wore a well-fitting leather jacket over a cobalt blue shirt, and black skinny jeans with a pair of dark blue high tops. As always, he was wearing his omnipresent smirk, but it melted off his face as soon as he saw me.
"You..." he trailed off, looking at me as if I was a dangerous mutation of an amoeba, "You look different. Like, good different. It kinda scares me."
I shrugged nonchalantly, even though I was thinking the exact same thing about him. I was wearing an unbuttoned purple flannel shirt with the sleeves rolled up over a white crop top that said 'the only difference between your opinion and pizza is that I actually asked for pizza ', a pair of black denim shorts and silver ankle-length boots.
"You've done a good job with the makeup," I smirked. "It looks practically nonexistent. Good thing that I know the truth right?" Before he could say anything, I slipped out of my room and locked the door.
"I am not wearing makeup!" He exclaimed indignantly. "I don't even need to! Why don't you, though? You clearly need it."
I rolled my eyes at him. The only makeup I ever applied was lip balm (I always made sure it was flavored, simply because), and it would always stay that way.
