Me: Here you go. The plans.

A few minutes later, Chiron's reply came on my phone screen.

Alpha Horse: Great job. How many more of these are there to go?

Me: I dunno. Maybe a few hundred more.

Alpha Horse: Well, I expected no less from Tritannus. Malcolm did a little looking around and found a draft of battle plans for the Seattle attack on the Amazon headquarters. It's quite impressive, really.

Me: Well, so far we haven't been drafting any plans ourselves, just making notes on the previous ones and editing them bit by bit. I didn't know he was a military genius.

Alpha Horse: I'm straying from the point here. I messaged you yesterday and today to say that I'll be overseeing preparations for an attack on the Titan base in Toledo,Ohio, and so I can't be the bridge between you and Malcolm any more. By the way, the date is August 13.

Wait, what??? He couldn't just do this!

Me: What??? But the dude hates me! I don't think that we can have a single civilized conversation with each other!

Alpha Horse: True that, Alexoupoulos.

Wait a minute, there was only one person who called me by my last name with that much venom.

Me: Pace. Hallelujah.

He didn't seem to get my sarcasm, because his reply wasn't what I wanted.

Alpha Horse: Yeah, that's me. Don't expect me to kiss and make up, but for the sake of the world, I'm here talking to you.

Me: Don't worry, I have got zero expectations from you, Pace. And I'm doing this too only because the world depends on it. Now don't we have some things to discuss?

Alpha Horse: True enough. Tritannus's strategy is quite admirable. Does he have any behavioral tendencies that might make him out as a very bright person?

My mind drifted to Tritannus, his smirks, the way he seemed to command respect, and I absolutely couldn't forget his sarcasm. It was frustrating, really, how much he looked and acted like Percy.

But Percy never wanted power, Joey reminded me. If Tritannus was Percy, he wouldn't be the freaking Supreme Commander of Othrys!

Me: Well, does constant sarcasm count?

Alpha Horse: In that case, you would be even brighter that everyone in my cabin combined.

And that was saying a lot, because the Athena cabin was the smartest cabin. But Hecate came a close second, obviously because of our knowledge of magic and logical puzzles and that kind of stuff.

Me: Hey, I'm pretty smart, if you haven't noticed. Anyways, he's really sarcastic, and he can be grumpy at times. But he does have a sense of humor.

Alpha Horse: I may be right in guessing, but he may have help from the Primordials in terms of the plans. Does he frequently go to meetings?

Me: He's hardly even in the office. That's how much he goes out.

Alpha Horse: So that kinda proves it. We just need a little more proof, so we can properly analyze his strengths and weaknesses. Tip: it also helps to build trust with him, so he can give you access to more intel. You working on that?
