I heard a knock on my door as I looked at myself in the mirror of my bathroom. I usually never did this, but this was an exception. I was in a completely pathetic state mentally, physically and emotionally, and I didn't like it one bit.
I splashed some cold water from the tap onto my face, hoping that it would calm me down, but water never helped me in any situation. I felt like breaking something for allowing my emotions to be exposed like this. Damn. Damn. Damn. With every damn, I knocked my head against the sink.
Why did you react like that? I thought to myself. You'd already been through the situation. You were at peace with the fact that he used to have feelings for you. Why did you take it out on your boss, well, ex-boss who might fire you now? It doesn't bother you anymore, does it?
Unless there's something you're hiding, Joey said ominously. Maybe you've been lying to me, you and everybody else about this subject all along.
I heard a creak, and immediately my senses were on high alert. Without thinking twice, I grabbed the shower wand and rested my hand on the tap, waiting for any other signs of movement.
I saw the bathroom door move, and I sprang out from my hiding place, proceeding to spray the intruder with cold water. I was met with splutters and surprised yells, and then the weirdest thing happened.
The shower wand slipped from my grasp as if it had a mind of its own and hit me on the head really, really hard. I slipped on the wet floor and hit the back of my head against the sink.
I sank to the floor, my vision slowly blurring and the place where I hit my head pounding. The edges of my vision turned dark, and darkness was seeping into the whole picture.
"Khloe!" I heard someone call my name from the distance. "Khloe, don't go into the light!"
For some reason, I laughed, knowing that only one person would joke about me hitting my head like that. From my murky vision, I could make out a pair of green eyes. His sea green eyes.
"Percy," I murmured, instinctively reaching out to touch something which felt so soft but so hard at the same time. "You came."
"What-Khloe!" Was the last thing I heard before I was engulfed by darkness and silence.
***
I woke up on my bed, moonlight filtering through the windows into my room. I tried to blink the throbbing pain in my head away, but to no avail.
I tried to remember what happened, but then another bout of headache came around. It wasn't a hangover because I didn't feel like puking, but my head hurt just as bad.
I rested my head back onto my pillow, when I say a sticky note next to me. I immediately plucked it off and read it.
Don't go anywhere if you know what's good for you. Scratch that, you don't. But still, don't even think about stepping out of your bed.
T.
I gritted my teeth as I shrugged my covers off of me. True, I didn't know what was good for me, but I would only know if I tried! Stepping onto the cold floor, I tried to make my way to the door, so that I could escape from whoever had broken into my room.
Suddenly a wave of memories crashed into me, and I remembered every thing. The intruder. The schizophrenic shower wand. Hitting my head. Blacking out. I gritted my teeth through the pain and walked towards the door, when it suddenly opened.
