"So come on baby,
Let's make it rain in Chicago tonight," I sang, carrying the last note about a minute longer than I should've. The crowd cheered and I bowed before waving the rest of the band upstage and bowing with them.
"Thanks so much for having us New York!!" I shouted into the mic and the crowd cheered again. "That's all we have for you guys tonight but we! Will! Be! Back!!" I shouted before bowing again and walking offstage.
"You guys rocked it out there!" I cried, pulling the guys into a hug.
"Hey, you're the talent in this band," Jonny, the lead guitarist, laughed as I let them go.
"Oh sure! You totally aren't the most talented guitarists ever!" I said sarcastically and Jonny rolled his eyes, grabbing a beer from the fridge and handing me it before grabbing one for himself.
"Ok Kels?" Our tour manager called and I looked over at him, "you've got press in ten," he said and I nodded, taking a sip of my beer.

The next two hours were spent doing press and taking pictures.

"Hey Kels?" Mike our drummer asked and I sighed, running my hand through my hair.
"What's up Mike?" I asked turning around.
"Wanna go out? I've got a couple bars in mind," he asked and I shook my head slightly.
"It's late, I'm already a bit tipsy, I just wanna call home and go to sleep," I said and he nodded.
"Anyone else?" He asked and the rest of the band cheered, leaving.
I sighed and grabbed myself a beer, opening it before sitting at the table and opening my laptop and turning it on.
I opened Skype and called my aunt.
"Hey!!" I called, waving to the camera.
"Hey Kels! How was the show?" She asked and I took a sip of my beer.
"It was great but I can't wait to be back home in Chi," I sighed and she smiled.
"Oh! Charlie wants to say hi!" She laughed, moving the camera to show Charlie.
"Hi love!" I said, waving, and he smiled and waved back.
"Hi auntie Kelsey!" He called and I smiled.
"Hey Charlie, how are you?" I asked and he looked up at my aunt.
"Good," he giggled.
"That's good, well I need to talk to your mom for a bit, have a good sleep!!" I said and he nodded.
"Ok bye auntie!" He called and waved before leaving.
Aunt Margaret and I talked for a couple hours before the band came back and we got on the road.

The next morning I woke up freezing cold.
"Fucking shit!" I whispered rolling off my bunk and onto the floor. "Ah! Wrong move!" I whispered, standing up and grabbing my sweats, pulling them on.
"Welcome to Michigan," Jen said, sitting up and rubbing her eyes.
"Michigan?! We shouldn't be here yet!" I whispered angrily and she shrugged.
"Talk to Randy not me," she whispered and I rolled my eyes, pulling an NF hoodie over my head, though it was an extra small it still hung a bit.
I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a breakfast burrito, tossing it into the microwave. While it was warming up I checked Facebook and Twitter.
I was done breakfast by the time everyone else got up.
"Well good morning early bird," Mike said and I waved, glancing up from my laptop.
"Hey Randy?" I asked and he sat down in front of me, "how did we get here so fast?" I asked and he shrugged
"Took a different rout," he said and I nodded. "You're opening for a rapper called NF," he added and I looked up at him.
"What?" I asked and he shrugged.
"What?"
"NF?" I asked and he nodded, "as in Nate Feuerstien? The guy who's merch I'm wearing?" I asked and he nodded.
"It would appear that way," he said and I closed my laptop.
"You're kidding right?" I asked and he shook his head.
"Nope," he shrugged and I looked around.
"Fuck," I breathed, opening my laptop again and going through the set list.
"What cha doing?" Mike asked, looking over my shoulder.
"Going through the set list, it needs to be perfect," I said and he chuckled, patting my shoulder.
"Ok, whatever you say boss," he said and I rolled my eyes, scrolling down and changing a few songs.

An hour later I had a shower and got dressed, skinny jeans and a 'tight' black tee with an NF hoodie over top.
I grabbed my wallet and phone, putting them in my pocket, and pulled my leather jacket over the hoodie.
"Where you going?" Jen asked me as I zipped up my boots.
"The store, I need some real food," I answered and she nodded.
"And cigarettes?" She asked and I flipped her off.
"I said I was quitting!" I cried and she laughed.
"You know I love you," she said and I rolled my eyes.
"I know you're a talented keys player," I said and she nodded.
"There is that," she said and I smiled a little.
"Ok, I'll be back for sound check!" I called and everyone waved as I left.

I got to the grocery store and grabbed a basket, starting in the deli.
"Can I get you something, dear?" The lady behind the counter asked and I smiled at her.
"Can I get a couple slices of ham and... sandwich turkey?" I asked and she nodded, getting the meat ready.
"Can you cut me some as well?" A guy asked and she looked up and smiled.
"Of course dear!" She said and he smiled a little. He glanced down at me and I smiled politely, looking up to see a tall guy with short cropped blonde hair.
"Here you go!" The lady said, handing me a bag. I took it and smiled, putting it in my basket.
"Have a good day!" I called and she smiled and nodded, handing the guy his bag as well.
"You too dear," she said and I walked away, looking through the isles.
I got some other food and was at the checkout when I saw him again.
"Hey!" He said and I looked up at him.
"Hi!" I replied and he had this grin on his face that made me a little uncomfortable.
"I'm Nate but you already know that," he said, nodding to my sweater.
"Oh! Yea," I said, chuckling nervously, "I'm Kelsey," I said and he nodded.
"$25.67," the lady behind the counter said and I smiled, giving her thirty dollars.
"Keep the change," I said and she smiled. I grabbed my bags and started to walk away when Nate called me,
"Kelsey," he said and I turned to look at him.
"Sup?" I asked and he smiled a little, causing my heart to flutter.
"Can I have your number?" He asked, playing with the hem of his sweatshirt nervously, and I smiled.
"I'll see you later," I said before turning and walking away.

When I got back I made myself a sandwich and ate it during sound check.
"What song?" Mike asked and I shrugged,
"I don't know, In The End? Black Veil Brides?" I asked and they started playing.
"In the end
As my souls laid to rest what is left of my body
Or am I just
A shell?" I sang before stopping.
"What's up?" Jen asked and I shook my head.
"Can you turn up Brian's guitar?" I asked and Brian played a couple cords.
"Better?" He asked and I nodded.
"Let's do this," I said before starting the song again.

After sound check we met with some fans and warmed up before the show.
"How we doing tonight Gladwin?!" I shouted into the mic as I ran on stage.
"Ok, ok," I said quieting the crowd.
"Now tonight, we're opening for one of Michigan's own and someone I look up to not only as a rapper and musician but as a person as well! NF!!" I shouted and the crowd shouted and cheered.
"Man, sounds like you guys don't even want us to perform," I laughed and they booed. "Well alrighty then," I laughed and they quieted. "This first song is one of my favourites, the very talented Jennifer Dwall wrote it!" I shouted and the crowd cheered again, "it's- it's sort of a play on Black Veil Brides' song Rebel love song, it's actually just called 'A love song'," I said before chuckling and winking at Jen as she started playing.

"Thanks to Journeys end for coming out and performing for us!!" Nate yelled into his mic as he put his arm around my waist, "Well played," he said to me and I smiled, slipping my arm around his waist.
"Thanks everyone for having us!" I said as the band came up stage. We bowed and I smiled at Nate before walking off stage.

"So Kelsey," Nate said behind me, startling me.
"So Nate," I replied, turning around, and he smirked a little.
"Can I have your number now?" He asked and I rolled my eyes.
"I'm not dating right now, sorry," I said and he shrugged.
"Is that supposed to change things?" He asked and I laughed, taking his phone and putting my number in it.
"That was some speech you gave out there," he said and I looked at him, confused.
"Speech?" I asked, handing him his phone, and he nodded,
"A man that I not only look up to as a rapper and musician but also as a person," he said and I rolled my eyes.
"Whatever helps you sleep at night," I said and he chuckled.
"Yea that won't help," he said seriously and I looked away awkwardly.
"Oh... sorry," I said and he nodded
"It's fine, not your problem," he said and I nodded.
"Kels!" Jen called and I looked over, "cigarette?" She asked holding out one and I swore under my breath.
"Go fuck yourself!" I called back and she laughed, lighting herself one. When I looked back at Nate he had a weird look on his face and I sighed quietly.
"I recently quit and they all think it's hilarious to tease me," I said and he nodded.
"Why do you hang out with them then? They obviously don't respect you and your decisions," he said and I laughed
"Because they're the whole reason I'm in the music industry," I said and he gave me that weird look again.
"Never mind," I said and he nodded
"Whatever you say," he said and I rolled my eyes. "You do that a lot don't you?" He asked and I shrugged.
"Maybe I do, maybe I don't," I said and he laughed, "whatever the answer, I need to go call my family," I said and he nodded.
"Have fun," he said and I nodded,
"You too," I replied before walking away.
