Love is never something that I wanted to get into and here's why,
People do stupid things when they're 'in love'
I don't know why I thought Nate would treat me different than all the other girls he's dated.
He pushed me away just like everyone else.
It was amazing and fun until he got comfortable or something and that's when he started drifting away.

*Two months later, May 2. Kelsey's mothers birthday*

"Kelsey?!" Charlie called, bringing me back to reality.
"What?" I asked, hearing his thumping down the hall.
"Where're my soccer shoes?" He asked, huffing from walking up the stairs and all the way through the house. Margaret and I had discussed him joining soccer and decided it was a good idea seeing as he seemed to like it and he need to loose some weight.
"In your closet," I said and he nodded, closing my door on the way out.
I flopped back on my bed and sighed,  grabbing one of my pillows and covering my face as to smother myself.
After a second I tossed the pillow at the wall, almost knocking over my recording mic that was standing in the corner of my bedroom.
I heard the front door close before I threw my phone at the wall as well. Slowly, I peeled myself off the bed and stood up. I adjusted my shirt as I walked over to pick up my video camera.
I was setting it up in front of my bed when my phone rang. Nate. I sighed as I picked it up and answered it.
"Look what the cat dragged in," I said sarcastically and he sighed, I could tell he was tired and my weak heart broke.
"How're you?" He asked and I sighed, sitting down on the floor.
"Fan-fucking-tastic, you?" I asked sarcastically.
"Not so well," he said honestly and I nodded.
"What happened?" I asked.
"I miss you," he said quick and I let out a bitter laugh.
"Fuck off," I said before hanging up.
I setup my mic and grabbed my guitar before sitting down on my bed and pressing record.

After I recorded the song Hey Mama by Hollyn, I edited it and posted it on my socials.
I met Jen for lunch and bitched about Nate and after we went back to her place and we did our annual Mario cart marathon to distract me from my mom's birthday.
About halfway through the second World Cup Mark, Jens roommate, came home just as my phone rang.
"Mark! Mark take over for me," I said and he took the remote from me, his fingers immediately on the buttons to keep the cart going so I kept my place in first.
"Hello?" I asked as I answered my phone without bothering to check who was calling.
"Hey," I heard Nate say and I sighed.
"Mark! Hit her! Hit her!" I shouted and Jen started squealing as Mark physically hit her even though I meant in the game. "Not like that you idiot!" I laughed and Nate cleared his throat.
"Are you busy? I wanted to talk," he said and I turned my back to the tv.
"Now you do? What about last week? I called you twice and both times you said you'd call me back 'in a sec,'" I said, mimicking him and exaggerating his accent.
"I'm sorry about that, I've been really busy with work," he said and I nodded. A sincere apology I can work with but something told me this wasn't gonna be the last time he did this.
"Ok well I actually-" I started but was cut off when Jen and Mark started yelling at each other, not that they weren't before it was angry this time. I turned and saw that Mark had won and I smiled.
"A win for you my lady," he said as Jen yelled about how he cheated and it shouldn't count as a win because I wasn't the one racing. A bunch of desperate bullshit if you ask me.
He stepped closer and gently pressed his lips against my cheek before handing me the remote and walking down the hall presumably to his room.
At that point Jen had stopped yelling and just looked at me, pure shock written across her face.
"I can't talk right now," I said quickly to Nate before hanging up and looking at Jen.
"What, the fuck, just happened?" I asked and she shrugged.
"I know he's liked you forever but I didn't think he'd...." she trailed off as she turned to look down the hall. "YOU FUCKING BASTARD! SHES IN A RELATIONSHIP AND YOU CHOOSE NOW TO MAKE YOUR MOVE?!?! IDIOT!" She screamed, charging down the hall and opening Marks bedroom door.
She screamed at Mark for a minute before I decided to leave. I grabbed my jacket, phone, and wallet and quietly closed the front door on my way out.

I stopped at hot topic to pick up some makeup and got caught up in a crowd of fans all wanting me to sign something or take a picture with them. So I did and, though stuff like this usually puts me in a better mood, I didn't feel any better when they left.

I got home in time for dinner and watched a movie with the family before going back to my room where I've been spending a lot of my time lately.
"Kelsey?" Margaret asked after Charlie went to bed. She opened my door and I closed my laptop as I looked up at her.
"Hey auntie, what up?" I asked and she sighed, sitting down on the edge of my bed.
"How're you holding up?" She asked and I shrugged.
"I'm alive," I said and she nodded.
"How's Nate?" She asked and I raised my eyebrows.
"You bothered to learn his name?" I snapped and she nodded.
"He called for you a couple day ago but you were at Jens and I'd forgotten by the time you got back," she said, her gaze fixed on the blue throw that was on my bed.
"What'd he say?" I asked and she sighed, looking back up at me.
"He said he missed you and he loves you," she said and I nodded.
"Sure hell of a way to show it," I said sarcastically and she raised her eyebrows.
"What'd you mean?" She asked and I sighed.
"He's been really distant lately, not returning my calls or texts," I said and she nodded. "We were planning on going to LA for a week but the Saturday he was supposed to pick me up he didn't show and didn't text, that call was the first time he'd tried to contact me since I went there for a week a couple months ago."
"I'm sorry honey, is there anything I can do?" She asked and I shook my head, my eyes welling up with tears from talking about this.
"I just- really trusted him, you know? I thought he was the one," I said and she moved over and hugged me. "I don't know why," I said, sitting up and wiping away my tears. "He treats all his girlfriends like this, it's all great at first and then he gets comfortable or something and work comes first."
"He has no idea what he lost because you," she wiped a tear away, "are so much better than those other girls," she finished before kissing my forehead and getting up.
"I'm gonna make some popcorn and watch chick flicks till dawn, you're more than welcome to join," she said before smiling and patting my leg.
I sat on my bed for a minute and calmed myself down before getting up and grabbing the ice cream from the freezer.
Margaret smiled when she saw me and I sat down beside her as the Kiera Knightly version of Pride and Prejudice started.
