After a restless night I got up and took a shower around 3 in the morning, replaying the events of last night through my mind.
"Nathan, we can't," I said and he sighed, resting his face on my chest.
"Why?" He asked and I ran my fingers through his hair.
"Because... because you set boundaries and I'm not about to let you break them," I said and he rolled off of me and onto his back.
"Why?" He asked again and I rolled over and kissed his chest.
"Because I love you," I said and he slid his arms around me, holding me close.
I turned off the shower and got out, wrapping the towel around my body and grabbing another one to towel dry my hair a bit.
I slipped on the jeans and shirt I was wearing yesterday and was braiding my hair as I walked into the bedroom.
I slipped on my jacket and laced up my boots before sitting down on Nate's side of the bed. He slowly blinked his eyes open and looked up at me.
"What's wrong?" He slurred sleepily and I shook my head slightly.
"Nothings wrong, I just wanted to say bye," I said and he sighed, reaching up and stroking my cheek.
"Don't go," he said after a minute and I smiled.
"I have a doctors appointment in a few hours, I have to," I said and he nodded, closing his eyes for a second.
"Drive safe and text me when you get there," he said after he opened his eyes again. I nodded and kissed him quickly before standing up walking away. "Love you!" Nate called from bed and I smiled as I grabbed my bag from the kitchen counter.
"Love you too," I said, walking back over to him and kissing him again. He reached up and placed his hand on the back of my head, kissing me again. I crawled onto the bed and he ran his hands down to my hips.
"I have to go," I said, pulling away and he nodded and kissed me gently a couple times.
"I love you," Nate said as he kissed a path from my lips over my cheek to my jaw.
"Love you too," I said, sitting up. "Get some more sleep," I said and he nodded, gently placing his fingers on my lips. I took his hand in mine and kissing it before getting up and walking away.

When I got to my jeep I tossed my bag in the passenger seat and plugged my phone in. I put my home address into the GPS and stopped at the local grocery store for breakfast and a snack for the road before heading out.

"If you wouldn't mind changing into this gown," the nurse said, handing me a hospital gown, and I nodded. I went into the room and changed, folding my clothes and putting them into a nice pile.
I laid down on the bed and waited patently while I got the X-rays done.

"Everything looks like it's healing nicely," my doctor said, looking at the X-rays. "You should still be wearing the brace though, I know it feels like it's healed and it doesn't hurt but you can still do damage to them," he said and I nodded, sitting up.
"Ok," I said and he nodded.
"Can you lift up your shirt for me?" He asked and I nodded, pulling my shirt up to my bra line. He pressed on a few spots before nodding and writing something on his papers. "Does this hurt?" He asked as he pressed on my ribs and I shook my head. He nodded again and wrote some more. "You can put it down again," he said and I nodded, pulling my shirt down.
"All good then?" I asked and he nodded.
"Yes, just keep wearing the brace for a few more weeks," he said and I stood up. I thanked him and grabbed my jacket before walking out of the room.
I made my next appointment while putting on my jacket.
I got in the car and sighed, going through my bag when I found the sandwich Nate had made me yesterday. I smiled and unwrapped it, taking a bite before texting Nate.
Kelsey/ just finished my appointment, all is good
Nate/ good to hear, have a good drive?
Kelsey/ also this sandwich you made me is amazing lol
Nate/ thanks, I gtg
Kelsey/ love you don't work too hard
Nate/ love you too
I put my phone in the cup holder and started my jeep as I took another bite of the sandwich.

"You're home!" Charlie exclaimed and I laughed as he ran to hug me.
"Only for a bit," I said and he looked up at me as he stepped back.
"What does that mean?" Margaret asked and I sighed, grabbing my bag from the passenger seat.
"I'm thinking of moving," I said simply and she nodded. I followed her inside and I tossed my bag in the laundry room before heading upstairs.
"How was your weekend?" Jason asked and I sighed happily, going over it in my head.
"It was great," I said and he nodded.
"We expected you home yesterday, what happened?" Margaret asked.
"Sorry, fell asleep," I said and she nodded.
"Why aren't you at work?" I asked and Jason smiled.
"Took the day off," he said and I nodded.
"Why?"
"Taking Charlie to the swimming pool, wanna join?" He asked and I nodded.
"Sure, I'd love too," I said and he smiled.
"We're leaving in a few minutes, you'd better get ready," Margaret said and I nodded. I went to my room and grabbed my bikini from my dresser and put it on.
"You ready? Mom says we're leaving," Charlie said, opening my door as I zipped up my pants.
"Just let me grab a towel," I said and he nodded as I grabbed a clean shirt and put it on. I grabbed a towel and shampoo, shoving them in my bag, before heading downstairs.
