Rooms And Reveals Part 1

*August 16*
*25 weeks pregnant*
The kids start school again in two weeks. We have gotten their clothes and supplies. We are going to the fair the 29th.
They will start school the 1st. Halo is getting big. She can't hide her bump anymore and you can feel the baby very little. We go in the 20th to find out the gender.
We have decided to do the baby shower. We will have the doctor write the gender on as many different things we need and fold them up.
We will deliver the papers. From there Anna said she would put a baby shower together. We can't wait to find out the gender.
When we walk in there will be a banner hanging up and it will either say Ethan Daniel or Rebel Taylor. I don't care what it says and neither does Halo.
Like I have been saying it isn't the gender but how healthy the baby is. Zac said that they are going to throw everything for the gender of the baby in a tote and bring it that way. We don't care really.
It is the thought that counts. The same day after the party we are going shopping. I gave Anna money for the baby shower. She is getting glow in the dark paint.
She will paint the baby's name on the banner and it will be dark. We will see the name and then the lights will turn on. Anna insists that it will be a girl and so does Halo.
I say a boy and so does Emily. Blake, Zane, and Chloe says girl. Zac says boy, Andrew says he don't know. We will see though. We only need the gender written twice on paper and folded up.
One for Zac and one for Anna. We just want the closest family. Halo has some aunts and an uncle. I have the parents on my mom's side but they are in no shape to travel and live in Florida.
We decided to keep it a family event. She hasn't herd from her dad since the day he walked out. She texted him and told him she was engaged and pregnant. He sent her a nasty text back. He called her a whore and slut.
She cried for a half hour just because of the hormones. I know being called names all to well. That was the first contact they had since he walked out for good. He was always like that.
In and out of her life. It got really bad when her brother died. He wasn't much to want girls so that's the main reason he was in and out of her life. When her brother died she was lucky to see him once every 6 months until she got the job at the shop.
She never spoke to him just did her work. When he left it hurt her yes, but after a little bit of time she knew it was for the best. She thought it would be good to tell him what she has done with her life though. He doesn't care though and that's the sad part.
*August 20th*
We wake up and get ready for the appointment. The kids are going to and that's it. We get to the doctors office. Halo checks in and we sit down. We wait for the nurse to get us like usual.
When she comes and gets us we go to the room. Halo lays on the bed and the doctor comes in. The doctor does her thing. The baby is happy and healthy and she has no doubts that the baby won't stay that way.
      "Do you want to know the gender?" She asks us.
      "We want it written on two pieces of paper and folded up."
      "Okay I can manage that." She writes the gender on two pieces of paper and folds them up. We leave and go to Zac's house I run the paper up. We go to Anna's and I run the paper up. We go home and Halo makes some food.
      "Not hungry are you?" I ask her.
      "No not at all."
      "I need to run to the store."
      "Awesome I made a list."
      "Oh yay." I roll my eyes and she hands me a piece of paper. "Lets see." I look over the list and throw my shoes on again. I leave the house and go to the store. I walk by the baby section and figure I might as well pick up some more diapers and wipes.
I grab 2 things of diapers and wipes. I leave the baby isle and go check out. I check out and go home. I go in and the house.
"Look what I got." I say.
"Diapers!"
"Well you can never have enough."
"True, very true."
"Well I got what you wanted."
"Thank you." I put everything away and I put the diapers and wipes in the closet. I hang some baby clothes up. I count all my extra money. I had a lot.
Halo counts hers and she was going good to. We have money for going shopping. The baby shower is in two days. I am dying from anticipation of what the baby is.
I can wait though. We need clothes, crib, dresser, and some more. I go to the living room and sit down with Halo. The kids are doing their own thing though. They are outside then they get hot and come in.
They cool down and go back out. I don't care as long as they aren't killing each other. Halo lays down for a little bit. She lays on the couch. She falls asleep for a little bit before we get up to make dinner. I clean up as she cooks. Zac calls me.
"Okay I have two totes with baby crap. Will that be enough?" He asks me. Plus he said two so that makes me think it's a boy.
"Dude what the hell how much baby crap do you have?"
"You don't want to know I have clothes, blankets, bottles, and stuff like that in one and big stuff in another." Damn it.
"Yes that will be enough."
"Okay sounds good. See you Monday."
"Yup." Halo can't work any more and I am taking off Monday and so is everyone else. We just need the full day. Halo and I want to get the nursery done but we can't yet. Without having a dresser, crib, and the other big things we can't put clothes away.
We can't set up bed sheets, and nothing like that. Zac said that next weekend he would come over and help me. Halo can't lift anything. Until then we will do what we can.
Halo has been washing baby clothes left and right. We have bottles in a box in the kitchen for when we can put them with the rest of the cups.
*Monday*
We wake up early and get dressed. We give the kids breakfast. Anna got some food and a cake for the baby shower. She has been keeping in touch with me and she doesn't want to give anything away to Halo.
We leave around 10:00 in the morning. Anna said that it was ready. I don't want to know what time she got up. Zac was there and so was Chloe and the kids.
We get in the car with an empty tote to put baby stuff it. We go to Anna's house. I text her saying we are outside. She texts back when she is ready. She told us to close are eyes when we get to the door and she would open it and let us walk in.
We get to the door and close are eyes. It was dark in the house. We hear the door open and I help the kids inside. We step inside and everything was quiet. I can't believe we are standing here.
We waited 25 long weeks for this moment and I can't wait to see what are little angle will be. I hear the door close.
"You guys ready?" Anna asks us.
"Yes!" We both say.
"Open your eyes!" She says. We open our eyes and on a big banner was the baby's name. Halo gets tears in her eyes as she looks at the name. I get tears in my eyes and one rolls down me cheek.
Emily can't find any words but I can see the shock on her face even in the darkness. Andrew is yanking on my arm jumping up and down. I can see the smile on his face and the shimmer in his eyes as he finds out what the baby's name is.
The lights turn on and we see the decorations all over. We see the table decorated with cake, food, drinks, and utensils. Zane runs to me I pick him up. He knows the baby's name to. A tear finally escapes Halo's eyes as I look at all the baby gifts by the fire place.
We look at each other and start laughing at each other. We hug each other. Are little baby. Are sweet, healthy, happy, little baby. I can't be happier now. Emily finds words to say finally.
The moment she has been waiting for since Halo and I got together. 3 long years she finally shouts it out. She shouts out our little baby's name.
