We Are Free

New Schedule

The next morning I get the kids up but leave them in their pjs I pack the back pack but just a lunch for me. While they play I eat a quick breakfast and get them in the car. I drive to Anna's house. I get there and nock on the door. She answers it Halo has already left for work.
"Hi guys!" She says happy and cheerful. She was in a bath robe so that leaves me to guess she isn't dressed yet.
"Hi they haven't ate everything they need is in this back pack." I say to her handing the things to her.
"Okay sounds good see you at 5." She says.
"Yep bye." I say and they wave at me.
"Bye." I leave and get into the car it was 7:00 I still have time to get to work. A half hour. I feel better now that they aren't here because I don't have to worry about them. They can go back to sleep and wake up at a normal time. Eat breakfast and get dressed at a normal time.
     They should have that. I get to work and clock in. I tell Dan the new arrangement and get to work. All at work I plan out how to ask Halo out and what to do. Before I knew it lunch comes around and I had fixed 3 cars without really knowing it.
     It was like having something memorized so you could think of something else but still do your task perfectly. I grab my lunch box and go to the table. I sit down and Zac comes up I me and sits in the chair next to me.
"Hey." He says. Lunch is his favorite time of the day.
"Hey."
"How does it feel without them?"
"Empty."
"Yeah, I bet it does." He was acting complete crazy.
"Dude what has gotten into you seriously?"
"Not sure but I feel like the energizer bunny it's going to be a good day." He takes a drink of my water and leaves. I laugh a little. I just keep thinking about the date though. By 3:00 I have it all planned out.
     I just have to work up the courage to ask her. Which I suck at. When 5:00 comes around I start second guessing it and if I should do it if I where to ever work up the courage to ask her. I get the kids and go home I make dinner and do the house chores I just wanna call Halo and ask her but I can't I have tried so many times.
     I push it out of my mind for now and go to bed after finishing all my chores. I drop the kids off the next morning. I go to work and plan again all day. Over the next 2 weeks I do nothing but plan.
     Before I knew it the first day of school was 2 days away I have everything for her. I got her a new outfit and shoes. Her back pack is ready. I have met with her teacher at open house. She was very sweet and understood my situation completely. During lunch at work Zac come up to me.
"Can you believe it 2 days and Emily is in school?" He says. I kinda scowl at him.
"Shut up."
"What's wrong?"
"Thinking."
"Bout?"
"Everything Emily is starting school and the new schedule and just everything."
"You wanna talk about it?"
"About Emily?"
"No the other lady in our lives."
"Why?"
"I know thats what your thinking about mostly." I put my fork for my salad down and look at him.
"Fine."
"Was I right?"
"Yeah but I was also thinking of Emily. I have been so caught up in my thoughts that I don't even remember these last 2 weeks. Monday she is starting school I can't believe it plus there is Halo."
"What about her?"
"I can't do it I have tried so hard to work up the balls to ask her if she would like to go out with me but I can't ."
"Well then don't tell her it's a date."
"I don't wanna lie to her and I don't wanna think it's a friend outing."
"Okay I would say I'm smooth with the ladies but l would be lying. I'm more of a one night stand guy."
"I can't forget why you got your own apartment."
"Yeah my mom has no boundaries."
"Remind me again why when I started puberty I went to you for advice?"
"Well my dad is dead you didn't want to go to your dad, he is a dick and I had already been through it all so you came to me."
"Okay I get it but still."
"Well back to you okay."
"You know I hate when the attentions on me."
     "Yes thats why I'm doing it."
     "Well then what other advice do you have for me Mr. Not so smooth with the ladies?"
     "Shut up before I shove that water bottle up your butt."
     "Hmm love you to." I roll my eyes at him.
     "My advice is go for it that's what I do."
     "Go for it."
     "Yeah grow a pair walk up to her and ask her."
     "When?"
     "When the time is right."
     "Thanks that helps a lot."
​     "You will know when the time is right just do it girls like honesty.
     "You would know."
     "You're an ass suck it.
     "I would but I'm not gay and small objects are choking hazards."
     "I hate you."
     "I'm glad." He walks away and I finish eating. I get back to work. I don't know when I'm going to do it but Zac is right. I just need to man up and ask her. After work I get the kids and head home.
     No work tomorrow, I'm glad. That also means one day closer to Emily starting school I don't want to let her go. After giving them baths I put them in bed. I think about what Zac said. He was right I just don't know when to ask.
     I do some chores watch a movie and go to bed. The next morning I wake up at 9:36. I get up and pee. I go to the living room. I'm the only one up I make some eggs and bacon. Emily gets up and comes to me.
      "You hungry?" I ask her. She nods her head.
     "Yeah."
     "Here you go."
     "Thank you."
     "Your welcome." She sits down to eat then Andrew gets up I give him some food and they sit down to eat their food. I get myself some food. I sit down at the table all that has been going on has just been wearing me down.
     I just need a day to relax and not think of anything that has to do with Halo or Emily. After eating I put mine and their plates and forks in the sink. I go lay down on the couch. They play on floor with balls and Legos.
      "What's wrong?" Andrew asks me.
     "I'm just tried I have had alot on my mind and I just need a day to do nothing and think of nothing."
     "Okay." He hugs me and gives me a kiss. I smile and he continues to play with Emily. They play and watch cartoons. When lunch comes around I make them something to eat. I don't eat though I'm just not hungry.
     I lay back down while they eat at the table. When they are done eating I lay them down for a nap and I lay down to. I put on some cartoons and go to sleep for a bit. I wake up they are playing on the floor it was 5:30. I get up go pee and start dinner.
     I feel some what better now. I do some house chores while dinner is cooking. I feed the kids and I was hungry so I eat some dinner. I put the dishes in the dishwasher and start it.
     I give the kids some ice cream when they are done I give them baths. I go to bed early nearly right after they do I lay down and fall alseep as soon as my head hits the pillow.
*Morning*
I wake up and I feel totally refreshed and I was back to my old hyper self. I get up and make some cereal. I sit down and eat it then I do the dishes and the kids get up. I give them some cereal.
     I know that Emily's first day of school is tomorrow but I'm not going to work myself up about it. I don't wanna feel that way again and I'm not going to think about asking Halo for a date.
     "The fair is in town would you guys like to go today?" I ask them already knowing the answer.
     "Yeah." Emily says.
     "Yes!" Andrew yells and they start jumping around.
     "Okay sounds good." They finish eating I put their bowls and spoons in the sink. I get Emily some clothes and she gets dressed. I help Andrew get dressed. I get dressed and do some laundry. They play on the floor. The fair doesn't start until noon. I call Zac.
      "Hey."
     "Hey I'm taking the kids to the fair you wanna come with us.?" I ask him.
     "Yeah that sounds fun."
     "Okay I'm going to call Halo next."
     "Alright."
     "Okay meet us there at 1."
     "Okay sounds good."
      "Bye."
     "Bye." I call Halo to.
     "Hey I'm taking the kids to the fair and Zac is going you wanna come?" I ask her but I know the answer.
     "Oh yeah that sounds like fun." She says.
     "Okay meet us there at one."
     "Sounds good." We hang up and I pack the back pack with everything we need. The kids eat while I pack the bag. I don't eat though. We get in the car and go to the fair.
     I see Halo she was standing next to Zac. I get the stroller out and put sunscreen on the kids. They get in the stroller I hang my back pack on the hook. We all get wristbands.
     "Where do you wanna go first?" Zac asks.
     "I don't know." I say.
     "The tilt-a-whirl!" Emily says.
     "Okay." I respond.
     "I wanna go on with Halo." Emily says but that doesn't surprise me.
     "That's fine." I say. We go on it Zac me and Andrew go on together with Andrew in the middle Halo and Emily go on another. For the next hour we go on multiple rides and take pictures. We laugh and have a good time I really feel alot better about the new change in my life. With everything going on as well. I'm ready for it all. Around 3:00 we sit down for a little bit we get some food and drinks.
     "I can tell your feeling better." Halo says as she drinks from her lemonade.
     "Yeah I am." I say nodding my head as I swallow some of my fries.
     "That's good." She says.
     "Yeah I just had alot on my mind and yesterday all I did was sleep and do nothing and today I just feel alot better I'm back to myself." I say.
      "That's good I'm glad your happy and back to your self again." She says.
      "Me to." I reply.
     "I'm just happy that everything is working itself out. I mean you don't have to take them to work any more they can sleep and eat at a normal time and they aren't confined to a table all day." Zac says, he has a point.
    "Yeah and with Emily starting school tomorrow then it's easier." I say.
      "Oh yeah." Zac stays nodding his head.
      "I have to get her to the bus at 6:50 then I have to leave with Andrew we sleep an extra hour because it only takes me 30 minutes to get ready." I say.
     "Yeah and that has to help." He says.
     "Yeah it does it helps alot and I give Anna some pull ups, wipes, and an extra outfit for both kids with some coloring stuff and toys. They seem to do okay."
     "My poor mom she has like 20 coloring pages on the fridge now." Halo says.
     "I know they color it then give it to someone."
      "I came home from work Wednesday. I had a pile of them scattered on my bed because they would color it then go to my room lay it on my bed and go color another." She says and we laugh.
     "Really!" I say and she nods her head yes.
      "Yeah I took a picture of them." She shows me a picture and there was alot of them.
     "What did you do with them?" I ask her.
     "I put them with the rest on my book shelf."
     "I got three folders full of them things." Zac says as he hands a couple fries to Andrew to put in cheese sauce.
     "Yeah I got a drawer full of them." I say to him.
     "They definitely love coloring." He says as Andrew hands him a french fry.
     "Yes they do."
     "Eww that one was wet!" He says as he throws it on the ground. We laugh at him and Andrew smiles. We finish are food and put are drinks in the cup holders and tray of the stroller. We put the water bottles under it with the back pack. The kids go on some small rides for kids.
     Around 4 we leave and both of the kids had taken their sandles off and fallen asleep. Halo was pushing the stroller. Zac had taken his shirt off and tucked it in his shorts waist band. Halo and Zac grab their drinks and leave I put the kids in the car and put the stroller in the back I get in the car and head home. I get home and start dinner.
     I wake them up. Emily and I get her outfit for school ready. Her back pack was on the back of the door. I get her new shoes. Her oufit consisted of a purple and glittery skirt with shorts under it.
     Her shirt was black with blue lettering saying you sweat I sparkle and it was sparkly. Her shoes where pink high top converse that where glittery as well. She is just a sparkly little girl. She picked it all out herself.
    They eat and I give them baths. When they are done it is 7:30 I put them down for bed. I set my alarm for 6:00 and do some house chores. When those are done I take a shower and go to bed. Tomorrow is an exciting day for sure.
