We Are Free

The Big Reveal

We have our tree and everything. Presents under it. It is Christmas Eve and the kids are all ready. We have everything in the car. Halo is bringing treats that her and the kids made. We will find out what Chloe is having tomorrow and we are really excited.
We will have a silly string fight. It will either be pink or blue. I would love for her to have a boy. Emily wants it to be a boy to. She said that when Halo has a baby then it better be a girl. We kinda laughed at her then said what happens happens.
They have their pjs on and so do we. We are watching a double feature tonight. Elf and How The Grinch Stole Christmas. We are watching the cartoon version because they don't like the other one. They say it is scary. What ever floats their boats I guess.
They lay on the couch and Halo and I cuddle in a chair. We watch half of Elf then she moves. We have popcorn. We took them to see Santa to.
"Okay you guys are next." I say, we have waited for a half hour. They are tired and hungry and so are we.
"Yay." Emily says. She kinda rolls her eyes.
"Ho ho ho." Santa says. Emily goes up and sits on his lap. We all stand there and Andrew waits his turn.
"What's your name?" Santa asks her.
"Emily." She says.
"Have you been a good girl this year Emily?" He asks her.
"Yeah!"
"That's good and what would you like Santa to bring you this Christmas?"
"I want a poster of the gymnastics team that was in the Olympics."
"Are you in gymnastics?"
"Yeah."
"Well Santa will tell his helpers and we will do what we can okay."
"Okay." We all take a picture and she gets down. Andrew sits on his lap.
"What's you name young man?"
"Andrew."
"So Andrew have you been a good boy this year?"
"Yeah."
"What would you like Santa to bring you?"
"A skateboard."
"Okay buddy I will talk to the helpers that make my skateboards okay."
"Okay." We take a picture and they each get a candy cane. We go home.
"Did you guys have fun?" I ask them as they happily crunch on their candy canes.
"Yeah I like Santa's helpers they are very small." He says. Andrew just loves everyone.
"Yes they are."
Now that the night has come they are very excited. Elf finishes and we take a potty break while we wait for the next movie to start. When it starts Andrew cuddles with me.
"I don't like Mr.Grinch. He is mean." Andrew says while sucking on a candy cane. They love candy canes.
"Yeah he is."
"Why does he hate Christmas?"
"When he was a kid he wanted to give a present to a girl he liked. All the kids laughed at him for it. He was different to and they laughed at him for that. So he climbed to the top of the mountain and has hated Christmas ever since."
"That's not nice they shouldn't make fun of him. He was very nice to give that girl a present. Who cares if he is different. I would be his friend."
"Yes he was." I love Andrew so much. He has a heart bigger than his body can hold. He is a gentleman to. When Emily wasn't feeling good he wanted to go pick her some flowers. He soon got upset when he realized it was snowing and there wasn't any.
I took him the the store and he got her a small thing of flowers. He does Halo's hair to. He will feed bread to the pigeons when we go to the park and he has to play with every animal he walks by.
He definitely has a heart of gold and is to good for this cruel world. I can protect him for now but one day I won't be able to. I just know that he will grow into a strong, independent, loving man that respects women. That's all I want. I think he is that way because of how people have treated him.
He doesn't want anyone to feel the same way he has. Through the movie he roots for the Grinch to become good. When he finally does he claps.
"He did it!" Andrew says.
"Yeah he did!" I say.
"I am proud of him."
"Me to.0 We send them to bed and the kids go to sleep. Halo and I go to bed a little later.
*7:00 AM*
"Jace! Halo! Wake up!" Emily yells. They jump on our bed. "Santa came!"
"Awwww 5 more minutes." I groan. I feel Halo sit on me and the kids do the same. They start jumping. "Okay, okay, okay, I am up. Get off me I have to pee." Halo gets off me and so do the kids. I use the bathroom.
We go to the living room and Halo goes pee. They go through the stuff that Santa brought them. Emily got the poster and she also got a Gabby Douglas Barbie doll.
Andrew got his skateboard. They place it all in the laundry baskets next to them. We hand out presents and they open them. Emily got some more clothes for her doll. Andrew got some clothes and so did Emily. They got some board games and movies.
Emily got some play makeup and nail polish. They put all their stuff away. We make breakfast and get dressed. Emily wears her boots, Pink leggings, pink shirt, and her Pink sweater.
Halo does her hair and she tries to do her nails but fails. Halo does her nails. The are green with little dots that look like lights and decorations. Emily goes into the mirror in her bathroom and tires to put on some makeup. She fails though. I am getting ready. Halo comes in.
"Okay let me help you." She puts Emily on the counter and I get dressed. She washes her face and puts some blush on her. Halo puts some eye shadow on her and a small amount of mascara.
"When did you get so grown up?" I ask her.
"I don't know." She hugs Halo and runs out to show Andrew.
"That girl wants to be just like you." I tell her.
"I hope that isn't a bad thing."
"No."
"Can I ask a favor?" She asks me.
"Sure."
"Can you go to the store?"
"Why?"
"I need something for something."
"Got ya. I can do that."
"Thanks babe." She kisses my cheek and I leave the bathroom. I put my boots on.
"Can I go with?"
"Sure." She gets her boots and coat on. We go to the store and when we get in she takes her coat off. As I am looking for things for Halo she sees a police officer. She walks up to him. I pull my phone out and start video tapping it.
"Hi!" She says to him.
"Hi young lady." He says back.
"Merry Christmas!" She says. He gets down on one knee.
"Merry Christmas to you to. Are you lost?"
"No I saw you and I wanted to come talk to you. I want to thank you for all the hard work you do to keep are city safe. You work on holidays and I want to thank you for it."
"You are very welcome. What is your name sweetie?"
"Emily."
"That is a very pretty name."
"Thank you."
"What is your favorite part of Christmas?"
"We go to my brother's fiancé's mom's house and she makes dinner. My other brothers and sister and niece and nephew come over to. We play in the snow and watch Christmas movies. We open presents and play games."
"That sounds like fun."
"What's you favorite part about Christmas?"
"Well I spend time with my daughters and my son. I also see my whole family. We meet at one house and have a big meal. We also play in the snow."
"I like snow."
"Me to it is very pretty."
"Yes it is."
"Well you have fun at your Christmas party."
"You to."
"Merry Christmas."
"Merry Christmas. Thank you for all you do."
"You are very welcome." She comes back to me.
"I am very proud of you." I say to her.
"Really?"
"Yeah, you just made his day." She smiles showing her dimples. We check out and as I put her in the car the officer comes to me.
"Pardon me, young man." I turn around.
"Yes."
"Is that your daughter?"
"No she is my sister."
"Okay." He raises his eyebrow at me.
"Due to some unfortunate events I raise my brother and sister with my fiancé."
"Oh okay um I just wanted to tell you that you have a very smart girl. The truth is my wife divorced me and took my two daughters and my son. I won't see them today so I am working. Your sister made my day by doing what she did. She is a very beautiful, smart, young lady with a heart of gold. She is very amazing. If every kid was raised like that the world would be a better place."
"Well thank you." I say.
"Your welcome you and your family have a Merry Christmas."
"You to." I go home and Halo and I talk about what happened a little bit before we leave to go to Anna's house.
We get there and hang the coats and everything up. We put the presents under the tree and it looked like it was about to puke.
"Let me see it." Anna says. Halo lifts her shirt and shows Anna the piercing.
"Pretty."
"It's your turn now."
"Um no." We start laughing. Zac walks in.
"The party is here." Zac says.
"It was here Jace was early." We start laughing and Zane runs up to me. I pick him up and he lays his head on my shoulder. He was wearing bibs, a long sleeve shirt, and a onesie. Zac had Blake and Chloe had the diaper bag and presents.
She dumps them under the tree. They hang the kids stuff up to.
"I told him that after this one I am getting my tubes tied and I am serious." She says.
"I don't blame you." Halo tells her.
"Power to ya. If I had them I would to knowing Zac." I say.
"Hey I am proud of myself considering I am on my third child, I am married and two of them will be with the same person."
     "Well I have to give you credit for for that."
     "Jace, lets go play in the snow. Please!" Emily says.
      "Okay." We all get ready to go outside. Chloe stays inside with Blake. Anna stays inside to. We all get the sleds and go out back. We sled down the hill and play in the snow.
The kids laugh and start throwing snowballs. We have a snowball fight and Zac and I tackle each other. We roll down the hill. We land and start laughing.
      "Are we ever going to grow up?"
      "No!" We start laughing again and get up. He throws snow at me and tackle him. The kids get cold so we go in. My hair was soaked with snow and so was Zac's. We were always the ones that would come in soaked and cold to the bone because we wrestled.
Anna makes us hot chocolate. We decide to open presents. Zane gets some hot chocolate but it was in a sippy cup and luke warm. Anna sits down and Zac and I hand presents out. The kids open them. They got spoiled once again.
We got stuff for the new baby and it was all gender neutral. They have most of it for what ever the gender is. Finally they pull out the box that has the silly string in it. They know what gender it is. The kids are going to do it. We hand each kid a thing is silly string and we hand Zac one.
     "Ready 3...2...1 GO!!!!" We yell. They start spraying string and they close their eyes. When they are done we all look at the color of the string.
      "It's a boy!!!!!" We start clapping. The silly string was blue. The kids start laughing and celebrating. Zane comes up to me.
      "Boy!" He says.
      "Yeah it's a boy." I tell him.
      "BOY!!" We all laugh again. We pick up the silly string and start setting the table for the dinner. It was close to 3:00 and we were all hungry. We sit down at the table and say a prayer. We all start eating. We eat and talk.
      "So they are on their 3rd baby when do I get a grand baby?" Anna asks me.
      "We have actually been talking about that. It is something we both want but not right now. We have to much to worry about at the moment. I already decided I am not going to be a teen parent so we said I will be at least 20 before we start trying." I tell her.
      "Okay I can wait that long just don't make me feel old." We start laughing.
      "No promises." She rolls her eyes.
      "I want Halo to have a baby." Emily says.
     "Kid that isn't happening unless she has me and I say no." She looks at me really confused and they start laughing.
      "What does that mean?"
      "You will find out when you get older." She gives up and continues eating her food.
      "You will have a baby one day though right she asks.
      "Yeah we will have a baby."
      "Okay." We keep talking before cleaning up. Anna starts a fire in the fire place. We put the stuff in the car and go back in. We help Anna with dishes and cleaning while the kids sit by the fire and watch Christmas movies.
We pull the camp fire sticks out and roast marshmallows over the fire. We have s'mores. The kids eat graham crackers after that. We make sure everything is picked up and cleaned up. We all head home around 5:30.
The kids were tired and Blake was throwing a fit. Zane was having a tantrum to. We go home and unload the car. We put everything away and clean up our house as well. We give the kids baths and get them in their pjs.
They lay on the couch. Halo and I shower to. We put on some pjs and go to the kitchen. We talk for a little bit.
     "Well another successful holiday." Halo says.
     "Yup.
     "What do you want to do for your birthday?"
     "That is so far off my mind at the moment."
     "Okay then what is next?"
     "Emily has her hero speech. We have to go to that then we will worry about my birthday."
     "When is her speech?"
     "It is the 5th."
     "Who is she doing it about?"
     "I don't know she won't tell me."
     "So it is a surprise."
     "Yup it is."
     "Well what do you think about Chloe having a boy?"
      "I am happy for her."
      "If I were pregnant what would you want it to
       "Um...I would have to say a girl. In my total option as long as both you and the baby are happy and healthy I don't care."
      "That's good. I know Emily wants another niece. Andrew wanted another nephew and he got that."
      "I don't know the baby may just shock us."
      "Like you did."
      "I still find that funny. My mom was so excited about having a girl. Had all these plans and everything. I gave them false information because when I came out I wasn't a girl."
     "If one of our kids do that I will laugh. I will laugh even harder if it does the same thing you did."
      "I would to."
     "Just like daddy."
     "Yeah that would be good. I would laugh if it happened that is for sure." We get the kids in bed and we go to bed. We lay there and cuddle. We fall asleep. I am really curious as to who Emily wrote her speech about but I will have to wait and see.
