Home And Healing Part 1

We call the doctor in as she gets more pains and they get stronger. She is laid back down. They check on her and it was a huge mess.
    She is put back on an IV and ultrasound after ultrasound. Finally the doctor leaves and she is in tears. She is so scared she is in labor or something is wrong and I am to.
    After what seems like forever the doctor comes back in.
      "You are not in labor." The doctor tells us. She breaths a huge sigh of relief. I do to. "You got Braxton Hicks. They are common during pregnancy even in 1st time pregnancies as well. You and the baby will be fine. She just moved a certain way. I want you in bed rest for two weeks. Take it easy.
    We do want you here longer though because of this. After the trauma you went through we need to watch the baby just a little longer." She nods her head. She lays down and the doctor leaves the room. We watch some hospital tv. There was nothing good on but a cartoon that looked like it was made by Dr. Seuss.
    It wasn't but looked similar. I fall asleep. I wake up when they bring us dinner. We lay next to each other and eat our food. It was big so we shared it.
      "I am glad we are here together." Halo says.
      "Really?"
      "Yeah, it isn't the best situation, but we are together. We are safe. We are protected. That's all that matters." She had a point. We are together and we are both okay. Rebel is okay. Everyone is okay.
*1 week later*
The kids come and visit after school everyday. They have been house hoping and we all want to go home. Both Halo and I are being released today. Rebel is still happy and healthy. She is 29 weeks now.
    She is ready to have the baby now. We still have 11 weeks left. We are both healthy and the doctor said I can go without a brace as long as I am careful until my follow up. We leave the hospital and Zac picks us up.
    It is Saturday. He is going to help me clean the house. Halo has to stay in bed until her next appointment. It is Tuesday so not to long. We get home and go inside. It was a mess. Blankets where every where.
    The kids toys. Crayons, Legos, Barbies, coloring books, reading books we keep under the table, movies, pictures. Glass was on the floor. What the hell did Derek do? We go to the nursery. Rebel's clothes were all over the floor.
    The room looked like a tornado went through it. He went through the house making sure they were alone. When he saw the baby's room he must have just torn it up. In his fit of rage he didn't even look at that it was all girl stuff.
    Emily's room was a mess. Her toys where all over. The glowing stars that were once on the wall now covered the floor. Her clothes all over the floor and her mattress flipped. Her medals, trophies, and certificates on the floor.
    Each one of the certificates were in a frame. The glass was shattered in all of them. I find her teddy bear. It was on the floor but okay. Bowser wasn't home. She was in the yard when Derek attacked. If she wasn't she would have taken him down. Then I remember the turtles. I check on them. I couldn't find them.
     "They are at my house. Bowser is to. They are all okay. I saw the turtles swimming in a small pool of water. They are unharmed and I'm shocked." The tank was on the floor. One side panel was cracked and the plants were on the bottom. They must have landed on the plants. Their food was gone and their water purifier.
     Bowsers leash, and things were gone. I'm glad they are okay. This will take a bunch of work. I go to Andrew's room. His was a mess. His action figures on the floor and his mattress flipped to. His clothes laying all over and his toys all over to.
    The solar system he had hanging above his bed was on the floor. How long was Derek in the house? Halo was outside. That gave him plenty of time. I go to our room and it was untouched. She must have come in at that time. The kitchen was unharmed to.
      "I will help you pack your bags. We have a room for you guys."
      "Is that a demand?" I ask him.
      "Yes, if you have to pack Rebel's things to.
I slowly nod my head. They have a lot of rooms. They kids are sharing one and we will have one. If she has Rebel before we get back in she will stay with us. Her crib wasn't damaged and neither was anything of her belongings.
    The only thing that was broken was picture frames and glass. Plus the side panel of the turtle tank. That also led to a water damaged floor so I need to get me boards down. I grab my bag and Zac puts my things in it. I pack Halo's bag. When our bags are packed Zac takes them out.
    I go to Emily's room. Zac and I put her mattress back on her bed frame. He puts her sheets and blankets on her bed. He puts her medals and trophies back on their shelves. He finds all her certificates and takes them out of the frame.
    He stacks them up and puts them in a folder. He sticks them on the shelf. We throw all her clothes in one pile and her toys in another. We stick her stars back on the wall.
    I pack her a little more things and we move to Andrew's room. We put his bed back and just throw everything in piles. I throw more of his things in the same bag as Emily's. Zac takes it out. I go to Rebel's room.
    I start putting her clothes on her dresser. My neck starts hurting. I grab a back pack. Zac throws some of her diapers, wipes, and clothes in the bag. He throws some other things of hers in the bag. If we need more we will get it.
    We grab her car seat. If she comes we need that. I can always come back and grab some more things while Halo is in the hospital. We make sure we have everything.
    Zac cleaned up the turtles water when he got the stuff. There was no permanent damage. We need to replace a couple floor boards though because the water sat there to long.
    We have that whole house to clean. It won't be fun. It is September 11th. We had are 4 year in the hospital. We will go to dinner or something later. Right now the most important part is our family is okay. We have 11 weeks to get everything together.
    That's just at the most. We get to Zac's house. I take my truck. Zac takes Halo. We grab our bags. Halo takes her bag. I take mine and Rebel's. Zac takes the kids and Rebel's car seat. We go inside and the kids all look at us. Zane, Blake, Ryker, Emily, and Andrew come to us.
    They know we are okay but they are still worried. Chloe hugs us. I pick up Zane and hug him. I pick up Blake and hug her. I pick up Ryker and hug him. They make Halo sit down. Zac and I go to unpack.
    Halo and I share the dresser. My clothes on one half and hers on the other. There was two small drawers on tops and 4 long ones under them. The bottom drawer I put Rebel's things in to it.
    Her clothes, shoes, blankets, diapers, wipes, and more. I set her car seat next to the dresser. The kids have made themselves at home. They are doing the same thing we are. They are sharing a bed.
      "Jace." Chloe says.
      "Yeah."
      "If Halo has Rebel before you guys get done with the house, we have a rocker and a bassinet. The bassinet was Blake's but the rocker was Ryker's."
      "That's fine. I am not going to be picky when it is just temporary. We can get her things to it is no big deal."
      "Okay, well just let me know."
      "Alright. I need to sit down my neck is killing me."
      "Well go. We aren't in no rush."
      "I know." I sit next to Halo. The kids sit by me and I hug them.
      "Miss. Blake come here." Chloe says. She goes to Chloe and Chloe sits on the floor. "Get diaper." She grabs a diaper and lays down. While Chloe changes her old one she opens the new one. She hands it to Chloe and she puts it on Blake.
    She pulls Blake's shorts up and Chloe hands her the old diaper. She throws it away and grabs her Barbie. Chloe and Zac start making dinner.
    It has been a long day really. I take some medicine for my neck it makes me sleep so I will be out cold by 6:00. They finish dinner. When they start putting it on the table I am
blowing bubbles for Blake and Ryker.
    Emily is playing on her iPod and Zane and Andrew are playing. Every time one of them gets a bubble they clap.
     "Daddy! Daddy! DADDY!!" Blake yells.
     "Hi baby girl!" She goes to him and he picks her up. He puts her on his waist with his arm around her back and his hand on her leg to hold her. She claps and laughs at us. She is put in her booster seat.
   We all sit at the table to eat dinner. Nearly as soon as dinner is over I find myself sleeping on the couch with my head in Halo's lap.
